  • Page 5: Installer/configuration menu This control can be configured for various system types including multi-stage systems and heat pumps. Select continuous backlight to improve display contrast in low lighting conditions. Select backlight intensity with options for high and low settings. Select temperature display adjustment to modify the room temperature display by -4°F to +4°F. This control can be configured for 7 independent day or 5/1/1 day programming or non-programmable modes. Select °F or °C readout based on user preference. Select audio prompting (beeper) on or off, with the factory default setting being on. Select daylight saving time calculation for automatic adjustment. Energy management recovery (EMR) allows the thermostat to start heating or cooling early to reach setpoints.
  • Page 6: Heat temperature limit range adjusts the highest setpoint temperature for heat, with a default setting of 99°F. The fast cool feature provides similar controls when the setpoint temperature is lowered. Cool temperature limit range adjusts the lowest setpoint temperature for cool, with a default setting of 45°F. The remote temperature sensor allows one wired sensor to be connected and indicates the measured temperature. Keypad lockout allows selection of lockout or limited range security settings. Local temperature sensor disable is applicable only when the indoor remote temperature sensor is enabled. The dual fuel feature is applicable only in heat pump modes and requires an outside remote sensor. Compressor delay is factory set at 60 seconds but can be adjusted between 0 to 99 seconds. Change filter run time can be set from 25 to 1975 hours in 25-hour increments, with an option to cancel. The keypad lockout combination number must be recorded for future use and cannot be 000.
  • Page 7: Operating your thermostat Manual operation (bypassing the program) Programmable mode Choose the fan setting (Auto or On or Prog) Fan Auto runs the fan only when the heating or cooling system is on. The HOLD feature bypasses the program and allows you to adjust the temperature manually. Program override (temporary override) Press the SYSTEM button to select Heat, Off, Cool, or Auto. Auto changeover allows the thermostat to automatically select heating or cooling. Set current time and day. Automatic daylight saving calculation adjusts the clock for daylight savings time.
  • Page 8: Programming tip: Copy program When programming your thermostat, you may copy the program from one day to another day or group of days using the Copy key. In 7 day programming mode, a day can be copied to another day or all six other days. In 5/1/1 day programming mode, the weekday program can be copied into Sat and Sun or either Sat or Sun. To use Auto Schedule, press Run Schedule to be sure you are in normal operating mode. In Heat mode, the thermostat will maintain your “Comfort Temperature” during the Morning, Day, and Evening periods and setback 6° for the Night. The “Comfort Temperature” can be temporarily overridden by changing the setpoint temperature using the keys. In the Set Schedule mode, the FAN key is used to select the fan operation during a program period. The default state of the Fan key is FAN Auto. In the Run mode, pressing the FAN key will change the fan from Auto to On or Prog. When programming is complete and all of the times and temperatures match your desired heating schedule, press Run Schedule.
  • Page 9: Energy saving factory pre-program is set for all days of the week. The factory set heating and cooling schedule includes specific times and temperatures for morning, day, evening, and night. You can eliminate two program periods if the building is occupied all day. The thermostat can be configured for 7 day programming or 5+1+1 programming. If re-programming a 5+1+1 day schedule, write your own times and temperatures below the factory settings. For a 7 day program, fill in all lines with your desired times and temperatures. Lower temperatures in heating will save energy. Higher temperatures in cooling will save energy. Do not program heating higher than cooling if using auto changeover. A worksheet is provided for re-programming both 5+1+1 and 7 day programs.
  • Page 10: Wired remote temperature sensing allows for one remote sensor to be installed indoors or outdoors, connected to the thermostat with a maximum cable length of 100 meters. The thermostat must have a 24 VAC Common connection to terminal C for the remote sensor to operate. The remote sensor can be enabled or disabled in the Installer/Configuration menu. The thermostat can average temperatures from both local and remote sensors based on selected weights. When a remote sensor is enabled, the display will alternate between time and remote temperature. In Heat Pump mode, the thermostat can monitor outside temperature and switch to gas heat when it falls below a user-selectable temperature. The outdoor temperature sensing range is -40 to 140°F, and the indoor range is 32°F to 99°F. The dual fuel temperature setpoint can be set between 5 and 50°F, with a default setting of 5°F disabling the feature. A delay for compressor shutdown can be set from 0 to 99 seconds to minimize cooler air output until the alternate heat source activates. The current temperature displayed will be the weighted average of the local and remote sensors.
  • Page 11: Troubleshooting Reset operation When the thermostat is reset, installer configuration menu settings and programming will reset to factory settings. If a voltage spike or static discharge causes erratic thermostat operation, you can reset the thermostat by removing the wires from terminals R and C and removing batteries for 2 minutes. If the thermostat has been reset and still does not function correctly, contact your heating/cooling service person or place of purchase. To reset the programming, clock, and configuration settings, press the SYSTEM button simultaneously. Common problems include blown fuse, tripped circuit breaker, or furnace power switch turned off. For no heat, check if the pilot light is lit or if the furnace is in a lock-out condition. For no cool, ensure the cooling system requires service or the thermostat needs replacement. If the thermostat thermometer setting requires adjustment, it can be adjusted +/- 4 degrees. Digital thermostats provide precise control and cycle faster than older mechanical models.
