heatit Z-Temp2 Wireless Thermostat Instruction Manual Overview
Summary of Contents
- Page 1: Introduction Heatit Z-Temp2 is a battery-operated thermostat designed for use with water-based heating systems. This device may be used with all devices certified with the Z-Wave Plus™ certificate. This product can be operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices from other manufacturers. The device needs to be added to an existing network to communicate with the devices of this network. The device can only be added or removed from the network if the primary controller is in add/remove mode. When the device is removed from the network, it will revert to factory default settings. Install the batteries as stated in the technical specification. Install the device on a flat vertical surface using screws or double-sided tape. Make sure the mounting surface is clean and dry before installation. Be careful when installing batteries, ensuring the polarity is in accordance with the printing in plastic.
- Page 2: Factory reset can be performed by pressing and holding the link button for 20 seconds. The thermostat is designed to work with water-based heating solutions. Heatit Z-Temp2 is recommended to be used with Heatit Z-Water for an advanced heating solution. Communication between Heatit Z-Temp2 and the controlled device is wireless. Heatit Z-Temp2 can also be used with traditional electrical systems in remote locations. There are two methods to add devices to a Z-Wave network: standard (manual) and SmartStart (automatic). The main screen displays measured temperature or relative humidity. The secondary screen shows the setpoint temperature when in heating mode. Hysteresis can be adjusted from 0.3°C to a maximum of 3.0°C, with a default of 0.5°C. To link the thermostat to a heating control device, use association groups from the thermostat’s root device.
- Page 3: Child lock is activated by pressing the left and right buttons for 10 seconds, displaying LOC. Z-Wave devices interact with other Z-Wave devices through associations, which are lists of devices that receive control commands. Child lock can be deactivated by pressing the left and right buttons for 10 seconds, displaying oPn. Associations may be assigned and removed via Z-Wave commands. The thermostat can invert its signal sent to external relays, allowing compatibility with other systems. The main thermostat device includes a lifeline group that sends various reports, including battery status and device reset notifications. The thermostat automatically goes to a standby screen when untouched, activating with a proximity sensor or manual button press. The QR Code is necessary for including the device using S2-Security or SmartStart. The S2 security enhances Z-Wave Plus with AES 128-bit encryption to prevent hacking. The node information frame contains essential details about the Z-Wave device type and its technical features.
- Page 4: Set the maximum temperature limit. Set time on how often the device sends binary switch set and thermostat mode to gateway. Calibrate the internal sensor. Offsets the measured relative humidity. Decides if the thermostat sends temperature when presence is detected. Send temperature report to gateway when presence is detected. Decides if the relay output should be inverted. Choose if proximity sensor is used or not. Adjust the backlight of the LCD display. Adjust the delta values for the thermostat to turn on/off heating.
- Page 5: Product information for Heatit Z-Temp2 includes key features such as Z-Wave thermostat control, internal temperature and humidity sensors, and automatic brightness control. The device supports encryption modes S0 and S2 for security. It operates within a temperature range of 5°C to 40°C and requires 3 AA batteries. The product is maintenance-free but should not be covered. It includes a notification command to indicate when the device is back in idle state after a power outage. Weekly programming and setback can be managed via a gateway. The device supports multiple command classes for various functionalities. Product specifications may change without notice. All electrical installations must be performed by a licensed electrician in accordance with national building codes.
