  • Page 4: About Vaillant Vaillant UK is part of the Vaillant Group, a family-owned business founded by Johann Vaillant in 1874. In 1894, Johann patented a new closed-system gas-fired bathroom boiler. In 1924, he launched the world’s first central heating boiler. Vaillant continues to drive the evolution of heating technologies, launching the first ever combi boiler in 1967. The aroTHERM plus was introduced in 2020. Vaillant develops market-leading products that provide a full systems solution. The company focuses on developing products that use renewable energy. Vaillant became the first boiler manufacturer in the UK to launch a heat pump production line in 2022.
  • Page 5: Setting the standards since 1874 Manufacturing at its finest At Vaillant, we think ahead. By choosing our heating appliances, you choose the pioneering excellence of German design and UK manufacturing expertise. We constantly review and update our manufacturing processes and environments. Our UK factory continues to receive awards year after year in many categories. We are especially proud to have been awarded the RoSPA Gold Award for world-class health and safety management systems for seven consecutive years. Since 2017, we have been accredited a gold Investors in People award. Vaillant has very high standards in manufacturing to ensure we make outstanding products. Our products are manufactured to meet ISO 9001, 18001, 14000 and many are Quiet Mark approved.
  • Page 6: Why choose Vaillant controls To get the very best out of the Vaillant boiler or heat pump, it is always best to fit Vaillant controls. Our controls are designed and tested to work with our products only. Fitting a complete Vaillant controls system can increase efficiency by up to 4%. What is eBUS? The eBUS protocol is the language used by Vaillant products so they can ‘talk’ to each other. eBUS allows our products to make decisions based on what the heating system requires. This process is called enhanced load compensation. Weather compensation The weather compensation feature on Vaillant’s smart controls uses local weather data to understand the outside temperature. Vaillant’s smart controls will increase the temperature going to the heating system when the outside weather temperature drops. These smart controls can learn the thermal behaviour of the building and use weather compensation to ensure comfort.
  • Page 7: Enhanced load compensation is a feature that automatically adjusts the temperature of the water leaving the boiler. Load compensation works with a room thermostat to determine the amount of energy needed to reach the desired temperature. The boiler will work at a reduced output to use the minimum amount of energy needed when only a small increase is required. This feature saves money and energy, as well as improving the lifetime of the boiler. Traditional 3rd party thermostats instruct the boiler to work at 100% until the required set temperature is achieved. 3rd party thermostats result in the boiler working at 100% output, often overshooting the desired temperature. The cycle of heating and cooling continues in order to maintain the temperature with traditional thermostats. A Vaillant heating appliance and a Vaillant control operate in perfect harmony using the eBUS protocol. The control intelligently instructs the boiler to come on at the required output for peak efficiency.
