Summary of Contents
- Page 1: Complete the wiring according to the connection suggestions shown in (Fig 3). For basic boiler, combi boiler and basic boiler with zone valve applications, Digistat with battery or mains supply are suitable. For electric heat application, use Digistat with mains supply only. Before installation, if you do not have the knowledge to install the thermostat safely, you must arrange for a competent electrician to install it for you. Wiring must conform to the current IEE regulations. Prior to commencing the installation, you must ensure the mains supply is switched off. Remove the front cover by releasing the 2 screws at the bottom downwards (Fig 5). Mounting holes and electrical connections are found underneath the hinged black cover (Fig 1). Install the 2 AA batteries provided (Fig 6). The Digistat is now installed and will automatically start to control the room temperature.
- Page 2: Installer options allow access to various settings for the device. Maximum setpoint limit can be changed, affecting all setpoints in different modes. Optimum start adjusts the thermostat setpoint early based on ambient temperature and scheduled events. Delayed start saves energy by delaying setpoint implementation if the ambient temperature is close to it. Valve protection time ensures relay outputs operate for at least one minute each week. Sensor fault function reduces heating output in case of a sensor fault. Frost protection maintains a minimum temperature even when the device is off. Installer settings lock requires a code to access the settings menu. Resetting the device restores it to original factory settings. Different application types and system capabilities can be selected based on the heating system.
- Page 3: Enable or disable Service Interval Mode. The Drayton Digistat thermostat is a universal thermostat with 24 hour, 5-2 day or 7 day program types and up to 8 time/temperature events per day. Set date when next service is due. Your Digistat is fitted with a “real-time clock,” which is pre-set at the factory. Select the number of days before the service due date. Enable or disable the audible service due alarm. Programmable thermostats do not have “On” and “Off” times like traditional timers. Change the 4 digit PIN. Your Digistat comes with pre-programmed settings suitable for those working out of the house during a typical 9-5 pattern. Designed for fixed wiring only, to comply with IEE wiring regulations.
- Page 4: A programmable room thermostat is both a programmer and a room thermostat. It allows you to set ‘On’ and ‘Off’ time periods to suit your lifestyle. The thermostat senses air temperature, switching on heating when it falls below the set temperature. You can have different temperatures in individual rooms by installing thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs). Turning a programmable room thermostat to a higher setting will not make the room heat up any faster. The time on the programmer must be correct and may need adjustments for daylight saving time. Programmable room thermostats need a free flow of air to sense temperature and should not be blocked. To set and use your programmable room thermostat, find the lowest comfortable temperature settings. You can temporarily adjust the heating program using options like ‘Override’, ‘Advance’, or ‘Boost’. The unit can be set to follow your required timings through a quick start process.
