- Page 3: Installing the thermostat requires safety precautions, including removing both AC and DC power from your system. It is recommended to unplug your RV from shore power and turn off any converters or generators. Open your 12-volt DC bus breaker or fuse to de-energize your thermostat. Removing the old thermostat involves detaching the front assembly from the back plate by rotating it counter-clockwise. Take a picture of the wire colors as they enter their screw terminals for reference. The backplate is attached to the wall by 2-4 mounting screws that need to be removed. Wiring the new thermostat involves connecting four wires provided with the EasyTouch RV. Micro-Air provides connectors to make wire connections to the OEM wires from the wall. A wire color chart is included to help record the wiring reference. Fill in the OEM wire color column of the chart for a complete wiring reference.
- Page 4: Once you know which wires match to which, begin by using a small flathead screwdriver to loosen a wire’s associated screw terminal. Ensure that about ½” of insulation is stripped from the end of the wire. Open both levers of a connector and fully insert this wire in one end and close the associated lever. Be confident that you are making the right wire connections. Connecting the wires incorrectly may damage the EasyTouch RV thermostat. Restore DC power and the thermostat screen should light up and boot into the main menus. Restore AC power so that your appliances can run again. Move on to the section Mounting the Thermostat or the section Initial Setup Instructions and mount the thermostat later.
- Page 5: Initial setup instructions outline that the thermostat automatically detects available system controls from the A/C control boards. No special software configuration is needed to start setting desired operation. The EasyTouch RV can be operated via the touchscreen, but it also supports wireless communication, monitoring, and modification through the EasyTouch RV application. Some features may require a wireless connection, detailed in Appendix A: Working Wirelessly.
- Page 6: Operating the thermostat involves using the main screen for setting and monitoring desired operations. The inside temperature is determined by a local sensor, with Inside(R) indicating a remote sensor is in use. The local weather icon shows the last received weather information, with more details available upon tapping the icon. The status tray displays icons indicating active operations, including the Wi-Fi connection state. The Wi-Fi indicator shows connection status: no icon for no connection, red for connected without internet, and green for internet connection. The schedule icon indicates that the created schedule is active and can be managed in the settings screens. Status messages may appear to indicate active operations, with meanings detailed in the status messages section. Temperature set-point can be adjusted using red and blue arrows, based on the operating mode. The system power button turns the selected zone on or off, with red indicating off and green indicating on.
- Page 7: Operational mode allows you to change the current operating mode of your system. Available modes include Aqua Only, Furnace Only, Auto Mode, Cool Only, Dry Mode, and Fan Only. Fan speed can be selected to operate in conjunction with the operational mode. Fans with green bars indicate manual operation, while Fan Auto turns the fan on and off with heating or cooling cycles. Mood lighting settings can be adjusted, but may not be available in all systems. Zone selection allows you to cycle through available zones, with changes applying to the selected zone. The meaning of zone colors is indicated, with green for normal operation and gray for no communication. Pressing the settings button leads to additional configuration options. The additional status tray may display icons for active operations, including cooling modes. Outside temperature is retrieved via the thermostat’s internet connection as part of local weather information.
- Page 8: Operational modes operate the overhead fan and/or a heating or cooling cycle based on the current heating or cooling set-point, relative to the inside temperature. Fans and fan only mode lets the fan operate based on the chosen fan speed, circulating air without heating or cooling cycles. Cool only mode runs a cool cycle to maintain the cooling set-point in the space, with a time delay of approximately three minutes before a cooling cycle begins to prevent compressor damage. Table 5 outlines cool only mode operation, detailing the conditions for cooling cycle initiation and fan operation based on inside temperature relative to the set-point. Aqua only mode runs an auxiliary heating cycle to maintain the heating set-point, with behavior based on Table 6. Furnace only mode operates similarly to aqua only mode, focusing on maintaining the heating set-point. Furnace fan speed is not configurable from the thermostat. Both Table 5 and Table 6 operations may differ based on the gap settings, which are detailed in the section on temperature gap (hysteresis). The document includes revision information indicating the last update date.
- Page 9: Dry mode attempts to remove humidity from the space using a set algorithm. Auto modes will automatically switch between heating and cooling cycles as needed. Auto modes have their own dual set-points that are separate heating and cooling set-points. No heating or cooling cycles will occur when the inside temperature is between the set-points. Auto mode can be useful for setting a higher day-time cooling temperature and lower night-time heating temperature. Auto mode is subject to gap operations. Press the set-points to toggle between which set-point you have selected. The upper set-point is for cooling and the lower set-point is for heating. Use the up and down arrows to change the selected set-point value. Figure 2 shows how the main screen will look in auto mode.
- Page 10: Local weather is displayed on the main screen under section Local Weather. Tapping the button will reveal more detailed weather information of the last received weather data. An internet connection and a valid location saved on the thermostat are required to retrieve weather data. Location is saved in the thermostat when a Bluetooth connection is made from a smart device with its location services enabled. New weather data is retrieved when there is a screen press or when a connection from a smart device is made. Time is pulled in when a Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection is made from the app. Status messages may be displayed on the main screen. The room sensor connected to the A/C control board has failed and is reading outside the normal operating range. Ensure that the “A” and “B” wires are installed correctly and not loose or reversed. The A/C control board has sensed that the DC voltage level is less than 10.5.
- Page 11: Settings screens allow for further configuration and control of the thermostat. It is a paged system that you can navigate through to see all available settings. Each setting button can be tapped to configure the related settings. Not all settings may be available depending on your EasyTouch RV model. Tap the settings button to view them. Use these buttons to flip through all the available settings or return to the main screen. This screen displays a QR code that can be scanned to provide information about thermostat operation and troubleshooting. It also shows the current thermostat firmware revision and the thermostat serial number. Tap the icon to switch between Day or Night mode. Day mode will dim the display after 30 seconds of no screen presses. Night mode will turn the backlight completely off after 30 seconds of no screen presses. This screen allows you to set the Active and Sleep brightness levels used by the Day/Night Mode settings. There are two Schedule buttons to enable or disable the schedule. Tap the enable/disable button to turn the schedule on or off. This screen allows you to monitor the state of your Wi-Fi connection to the thermostat. The SSID and Password fields show the saved credentials that the thermostat is always attempting to connect to. The Router, Strength, and Internet fields show the state of the Wi-Fi connection. The MAC address of the thermostat is also shown at the bottom.
- Page 12: Bluetooth password reset is used to match your EasyTouch RV app account for remote connections. Only one account can access the thermostat. Temperature reading adjustment allows calibration of the inside temperature with an offset. Temperature gap (hysteresis) determines the temperature difference required to start a heating or cooling cycle, preventing short cycling. Measurement units setting allows toggling between Fahrenheit and Celsius for temperature display. Touchscreen calibration can be performed to ensure accurate touch interpretation. Restarting the thermostat simulates power removal and restoration. Reset all option resets certain settings to factory defaults, with options for specific settings.
- Page 13: Dip switches are used to configure the thermostat's operational settings, varying by EasyTouch RV model. Some dip switches display the configuration of the air conditioner control board. Others indicate which appliances are connected to the EasyTouch RV. The switches button allows users to see available configurations. Refer to the initial setup instructions for necessary configurations. Micro-Air cannot assist with adding more appliances to the system. The auto-generator start (AGS) setting enables a generator to start before appliances requiring line voltage. The AGS enable button can be tapped to enable or disable this feature. Most RV systems have auxiliary heat modes, such as a gas furnace or hydronic heat. The furnace/aqua button toggles between icons for these operational modes, with specific settings for the 350 model.
- Page 14: The schedule supports 7 day per week scheduling of events. Events can include changes to the set point or mode of operation for one or more zones. The smart device application also offers a method to copy days. Once a schedule is set for one day, it can be copied to any other day. Calibrate touchscreen It is normally not necessary to recalibrate the touchscreen. This selection prompts the user to press the four corners of the display then test the calibration using three diagonal marks. Check for updates Checks to see if any updates are available for the thermostat. The smart device application must have internet and the thermostat must be connected to Wi-Fi. Notifications Notifications provide a way for the user to monitor the temperature in the space using notification limits. Limits are set by connecting to the thermostat in the app. Edit Wi-Fi settings or connect to Wi-Fi This is where you will make the connection from the thermostat to the internet. The app must be connected to the thermostat over Bluetooth to see this option.
- Page 17: Appendix A: Working Wirelessly This thermostat may be operated remotely using either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. All connectivity is performed through the EasyTouch RV App on a smart device. The app is downloaded from the Google Play store or Apple App store. Bluetooth is a limited range method to connect, typically used when near the thermostat. Each thermostat can only be assigned to a single account, but many users can control the thermostat if they use the same account. An internet connection on your smart device is necessary for these steps. EasyTouch RV uses BLE which is a special implementation of Bluetooth. The application may ask to add a device if your thermostat is powered. Enter your SSID (network name) and password of the network you want to connect the thermostat to. Follow the next steps if the account process does not add a control or a second thermostat is to be added.
- Page 18: Connecting to a new Wi-Fi network allows you to control the thermostat from anywhere using the app. The internet source must be a 2.4GHz network to connect to EasyTouch. To connect, use Bluetooth to access the settings, select Wi-Fi Setup, and choose a network. You can either select from available networks or enter the SSID manually. After entering the password, press OK. A green Wi-Fi symbol indicates a successful connection, allowing remote access via the app. Updating the EasyTouch RV thermostat ensures you have the latest features. Confirm the thermostat is connected to Wi-Fi and check for updates through the settings. Follow the prompts to update or verify the software version.
