- Page 3: Wiring the thermostat There are three terminals on the back of EasyTouch labeled SIG, GND, and 12V. They will be connected to the push terminals on the back of the EasyTouch thermostat. Use the information in Table 1 to determine the connections. Table 1 Terminal Labels Style 2 -12V Style 1 GND EasyTouch GND SIG COM +12V COMMS 12V+ 12V
- Page 4: Mounting the thermostat involves several steps. Locate the mounting buttons horizontally across the hole with the smaller diameter against the wall. Remove the mounting tab before mounting on the wall. Screw in one screw and level the buttons so the display will be straight when installed. Align the buttons with the holes in the back of the display. Press the display against the wall and gently slide the display down to lock it in place. Screw in the second screw making sure the two buttons remain level.
- Page 5: Initial setup instructions Control boards in this system send data to the display that determines the available modes. No configuration is necessary. This thermostat may be operated remotely using either Bluetooth or WIFI. Apps may be loaded from the Google Play store or Apple App store. The first time the app is opened, it will ask to create an account. A WIFI connection on your smart device is necessary for this step. Create your account and follow the prompts to connect your thermostat. If a second user is going to use the thermostat remotely, they can use the same account and password as the first user. Each thermostat can only be assigned to a single account.
- Page 6: Home-away-schedule icon allows selection between modes. Home mode uses a single setpoint for temperature control. Schedule mode allows changing set points throughout the day programmatically. Away mode sets heating and cooling set points and automatically changes between them. The zone selection button shows a zone in green when turned on. The zone number appears in gray if unavailable and in red if there is a fault. Pressing the gear changes the settings screen for additional setup functions. Pressing the set point changes system units from °F to °C and back. A red set point indicates a heating cycle is in process. A blue set point indicates a cooling cycle is in process.
- Page 7: Away operation allows setting upper and lower limits for temperature with a non-operating area or “dead band” in the middle. This can be useful when setting a higher daytime cooling temperature and lower nighttime heating temperature. It can also be used to control the temperature extremes when you are away from the RV. The mode selected must be an automatic mode to allow both heating and cooling operation. Press the setpoints area to toggle between the selected value. A blue square will show around the value you are changing. The upper value changes the cooling set point and the lower value changes the heating set point. Use the up and down arrows to change the selected temperature value.
- Page 8: Schedule screen Set points may be changed on a time-based schedule. Events will show --:-- when the event is disabled. Press the hours position to set the hours. Use the adjustment selectors to change the hours. Press the minutes to move the flashing bar under the minutes. Press the temperature to change the desired temperature set point. Press the time in the upper right to change 12 and 24-hour time formats. Time zone is set and saved whenever the thermostat connects using Bluetooth. Press the enabled/disabled button to enable the schedule. The schedule will be active and make set point changes anytime the schedule is selected on the main screen.
- Page 9: Settings screen includes various features for user customization. Day/Night mode adjusts display brightness based on time of day. DIP switches icon allows viewing of control board settings. WIFI settings can be accessed, but changes must be made via a smart device application. Temperature adjustment applies to zone 1 for inside temperature offset. Temperature delta icon enables one- or two-degree adjustments before a cycle starts. Bluetooth feature allows resetting of the Bluetooth password linked to the account. Schedule function automates set point changes at predetermined times. Brightness settings control normal and screen saver brightness levels. Reset all option restores thermostat to factory settings, clearing all configurations.
- Page 10: Gas heat override activates when the outside temperature falls below the minimum heat pump operating temperature. The smart device application allows for resetting the display as if power was removed and restored. Calibration of the touchscreen is typically unnecessary and requires pressing the four corners of the display. Checking for updates requires the smart device application to have internet and the thermostat to be connected to WIFI. Notifications inform the user when the temperature exceeds a set limit, which can be adjusted in the app. A minimum and maximum allowed temperature can be set for notifications. Notifications are sent for each degree the temperature rises above the maximum limit. If the temperature drops below the maximum, no notification is sent unless it exceeds the last maximum again. The notification system is designed to avoid nuisance alerts to the smart device. Table 4 provides an example of notification actions based on temperature changes.
