How do I fit the sensor onto the Danfoss RAS-C2 valve?

Remove the cap, turn the sensor loosely onto the valve body, then press it firmly on whilst positioning the scale pointer correctly and secure the union nut.

1. Turn union nut loosely towards sensor body until slightly free of the lower part.
2. Press sensor firmly onto valve.
3. For horizontal mounting, ensure scale pointer is at top. For vertical, ensure it is at front.
4. Turn union nut clockwise by hand whilst holding sensor firmly.
5. Tighten grey union nut to 5Nm using parrot nose pliers, still holding sensor firmly. Installation Guide, p. 2

What does the setting ring do on the Danfoss RAS-C2 Combi?
