(9) OPTIONAL – INSTALL AN APRILAIRE MODEL 8051 FLUSH MOUNT
OR 8053 SURFACE MOUNT TEMPERATURE SENSOR
1. Mount the indoor temperature sensor.
3. Take a resistance measurement before connecting to
the IDS and CIR GND terminals to verify the sensor is
properly installed.
• Locate the sensor as you would locate a thermostat.
• Maximum wire length from sensor to thermostat is
300 feet.
• Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance (kΩ) of the
sensor. The resistance reading will depend on the indoor
temperature (see table from OUTDOOR SENSOR
installation section on page 20).
• Follow the installation instructions provided with
the sensor.
2. Run a 2-wire cable from the sensor to the thermostat.
4. Wire the sensor to the thermostat (see Figure 10).
• Strip 1/4" of insulation from the two sensor wires.
