TPI (Time Proportional & Integral) is a self-learning, time proportional
control algorithm. TPI type control ensures economical operation of
the system thanks to more precise temperature maintenance during
the control process. In addition to an accurate and stable room
temperature, the advantage of this system is the minimization of
energy consumption and significant savings. RT520 offers 3 types of
TPI controls:
1.for radiators (6CPH);
2. for underfloor heating (3CPH);
3. for electric heating (9CPH).

Hysteresis is the temperature difference between which the thermostat
works, keeping the set temperature. For example, if you set the
temperature to 20°C and if the hysteresis is 0.5°C, the heating will be
turned on when the room temperature drops to 19.5°C and turned off
when the temperature reaches 20.5°C.

SALUS RT520 Radiator Thermostat User Guide Overview
Summary of Contents
- Page 1: Button functions include MENU, SELECT, DOWN, UP, BOOST, and MANUAL. The RT520 and RT520RF are part of the SALUS RT range of thermostat heating controls. These thermostats feature a load compensation feature for cost-effective operation. The RT520 series includes a larger LCD display and additional operational functions. TPI is a self-learning control algorithm that ensures economical operation and precise temperature maintenance. Hysteresis is the temperature difference that the thermostat maintains around the set temperature. The product complies with essential EU Directives regarding safety and performance. Installation must be performed by a qualified person in accordance with national and EU regulations. The thermostat requires 2 x AA alkaline batteries for operation. The technical specifications include a temperature range of 5°C to 33.5°C and a radio frequency of 868 MHz.
- Page 2: Programming - Automatic mode allows for 6 time intervals with adjustable temperatures. You can set 2, 3, or up to 6 temperatures per day, and all time periods must be defined. Administrator settings require a PIN code to set a service reminder for boiler inspection. The OPTIMUM START function sends a heating signal in advance to reach the preset temperature. Pairing the RT520TX thermostat with the receiver requires the devices to be at least 1 meter apart. The OPTIMUM STOP function switches off the heat source earlier, maintaining the scheduled temperature. To enter Administrator mode, use the UP or DOWN buttons to enter the PIN code and confirm each numeral. The pairing process can take up to 10 minutes, and successful pairing is indicated by a solid red LED. In manual mode, the user can set the desired temperature that the thermostat will maintain. To reset the thermostat, press MENU, DOWN, and BOOST simultaneously for 5 seconds.
