SALUS Programmable Wired Thermostat VS30W/VS30B Installation Guide Overview
Summary of Contents
- Page 1: VS30 thermostat in connection with a boiler with a “NO” voltage free terminal through the RM-16A relay. The VS30 thermostat has been designed for flush mounting in a standard electrical box with a diameter of 60 mm. Programmable, wired thermostat with digital display for the control of temperature in UFH & RAD systems. Note: Use the rear plate of the VS30 thermostat only with this model. During the first start-up, the thermostat will automatically start time and date setting. The VS30 thermostat controls temperatures of individual heating zones in underfloor heating systems. This product complies with the following EU Directives: Electromagnetic Compatibility 2014/30/EU, Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU and RoHS 2011/65/EU. Installation must be carried out by a qualified person in accordance with national and EU regulations. Use the device only as intended, keeping it in a dry condition. The product is for indoor use only. The full version of the manual in PDF format is available on the website.
- Page 2: Default value and function descriptions are provided for temperature settings. The NSB function can automatically change temperatures on VS35 daily thermostats via a programmable thermostat. To activate automatic mode, select the appropriate icon on the display. The thermostat can correct wrong temperature readings by adjusting the offset temperature. Using a floor temperature sensor is necessary for certain functions. The thermostat measures temperature only on the external sensor. Frost protection mode is available for longer periods of absence or holidays. The thermostat has multiple operating modes, including comfort, standard, economic, and frost protection. Error codes are provided for troubleshooting, including temperature sensor faults. Factory settings can be restored by setting the PSuu code to 47.
- Page 3: Relay module RM-16A opens and closes the circuit to affect the work of other devices. Some uses of the module RM-16A with other Salus products include connection of the thermostat with the high voltage relay 230V. Connection of the SALUS temperature regulator with the NO/COM relay is required for solid fuel boiler controls. The maximum electricity consumption of the receiver cannot exceed 16A. Devices other than electro thermal actuators can be connected with the wiring centre. The product code for the relay module is RM-16A. Selecting electric electronic gear must comply with waste disposal regulations. The declaration of compliance is available on the Salus Controls website. The relay module is made in Poland.
- Page 4: Safety information emphasizes the importance of ensuring that the relay module's parameters match the specifications to avoid hazards. The relay module RM-16A is designed to open and close circuits to control other devices. It is crucial that connections are made by a qualified installer with current eligibility. The module can connect various devices, including thermostats and boilers, with specific output requirements. The maximum electricity consumption for connected devices should not exceed 16A. The power supply for the RM-16A module is 230V AC at 50 Hz. The module supports a control input with a voltage output of 230V. Specifications include a power rating of 16A / 250V AC and a maximum power of 4000VA. Measurements of the module are 47x47x21. The document outlines various connection scenarios for the RM-16A module with other Salus products.
- Page 5: Connection of the thermostat with a voltage relay 230V to a gas boiler which requires free-voltage output NO/COM. Connection of the SALUS temperature regulator with NO/COM relay with a boiler control which requires NC/COM output. NC/COM output is normally required in solid fuel boilers controls.
