- Page 3: Approvals and warranty AHRI Standard 210/240-2023 certified. ENERGY STAR certified (certain units). Sound rated to AHRI Standard 270-2008 test conditions. Limited ten years warranty for compressors in residential installations. Limited five years warranty for all other covered components in residential installations. Ball bearings and sound levels as low as 72 dBA. Lennox designed and fabricated Quantum Coil. R-454B refrigerant has low global warming potential and zero ozone depletion potential. High capacity suction line drier is factory installed to trap moisture or dirt. Low pressure transducer provides loss of charge and freeze-up protection.
- Page 4: Features of the refrigeration system include an indoor refrigerant detection system that complies with UL 60335-2-40 approved standards and is required for all systems using R-454B refrigerant. The system consists of a refrigerant detection sensor and a mitigation control in the indoor unit. A high pressure switch protects the system from high pressure conditions due to fan failure or a blocked/dirty coil. The refrigerant detection system stops compressor operation if R-454B refrigerant is detected and operates the blower to reduce concentrations in the conditioned space. Once safe levels are reached, the HVAC system resumes normal operation. Expansion valve kits may be field installed on indoor units as required. The precise comfort technology includes a variable capacity rotary compressor and DC inverter control to reduce overall energy usage compared to conventional air conditioners. The loss of charge switch kit protects the compressor from damage due to low refrigerant charge conditions. Refrigerant line kits ensure uniform suction flow, constant discharge flow, and high efficiency with quiet operation. The rotary compressor operates by drawing vapor into a cylindrical chamber, compressing it, and discharging it through the discharge port.
- Page 5: Features Precise Comfort® technology Controls Accumulator Lennox® communicating control Advanced control communicates information about various operating parameters in the air conditioner. Compressor crankcase heater prevents migration of liquid refrigerant into the compressor. Compressor sound dampening system includes a polyethylene compressor cover and insulation. Auto configuration automatically sends a description of the unit to the thermostat. DC inverter control converts AC line voltage into filtered variable DC voltage. Low ambient operation allows the air conditioner to operate down to 0°F outdoor air temperature. Climate IQ™ technology optimizes dehumidification settings for specific climates. Outdoor air temperature sensor allows the thermostat to display outdoor temperature.
- Page 6: Features of the EL18KCV Air Conditioner include compatibility with both communicating and non-communicating thermostats. The E30 Smart Wi-Fi Thermostat is a programmable, touchscreen thermostat with advanced features. It offers 3 Heat/2 Cool settings and auto-changeover functionality. The thermostat recognizes and connects to all Lennox communicating products for automatic configuration. Enhanced capabilities include humidity control and equipment maintenance reminders. The easy-to-read 7-inch color touchscreen displays current and set temperatures, humidity, and system status. Smart Away technology uses geo-fencing to optimize system operation based on homeowner proximity. Wi-Fi remote monitoring and adjustment are available through various devices. The installer setup screens facilitate quick system configuration and troubleshooting. The thermostat is compatible with smart home automation systems.
- Page 7: Features include heavy-gauge steel construction and a pre-painted powder paint cabinet finish. The unit is surrounded by louvered steel panels on all four sides. A conveniently located control box has all controls factory wired. Drainage holes are provided in the base section for moisture removal. High-density polyethylene unit support feet raise the unit off the mounting surface to avoid moisture damage. The durable zinc-coated base section resists rust and corrosion. Steel louvered panels provide complete coil protection and are hinged for easy cleaning and servicing. Refrigerant line connections and electrical inlets are located in one central area of the cabinet. Units can accommodate braze-free or press fittings for installation versatility.

- Page 9: Expanded sound data includes octave band sound power levels in dBA. Sound rating number is the overall A-Weighted Sound Power Level, measured from 100 Hz to 10,000 Hz. Estimated sound pressure level at distance is based on AHRI Standard 275-2010. Field wiring includes two wire power options and requirements for thermostats. All wiring must conform to NEC or CEC and local electrical codes. Service clearance requires 30 inches on one side adjacent to the control box. One of the other three sides must have 36 inches of clearance. 48 inches of clearance is required on top of the unit. 24 inches of clearance is required between two units. Notes provide specific installation clearances for proper setup.

- Page 11: TXV usage TXV substitution - R-454B A general guide for replacing the factory installed R-454B TXV if the indoor unit is larger or smaller than the outdoor unit. All Lennox coils and air handlers are shipped with a factory installed TXV. In most cases, no substitution is needed. If a different size TXV is required, it will be listed in the “TXV substitution” table by size. The correct TXV must be ordered separately and field installed. Standard ratings relating to cooling or heating capacities shall be net values, including the effects of circulating-fan heat. Power input used for calculating efficiency shall be the total power. TXV ranges: 26Z70 - 1.5 to 3 ton systems; 26Z71 - 3.5-4 ton systems; 26Z72 - 5 ton systems.
