KPU 19 thermostats are used for
temperature regulation in refrigeration,
freezing, air conditioning, ventilating
and heating systems.

KPU 19 thermostats are fitted with
Single-Pole Double-Throw (SPDT)
or Single-Pole Single-Throw (SPST)
contact system.
The KPU 19 thermostat is designed
only for use as a temperature
regulating operating control. It is
the responsibility of the installer
to verify that other necessary
safety controls are installed and
functioning properly as intended
by the original equipment
The standard KPU 19 enclosure is rated
NEMA ~ 1.
NEMA ~ 1 is obtained when the
thermostat is mounted on a flat surface
with all unused holes covered.

Can I mount a thermostat bulb directly on a cold wall?
No. Mount the unit on an insulating plate instead to avoid incorrect operation. Installation Guide, p. 2
Where is the terminal block on the Danfoss KPU?

How do I secure the capillary tube on a Danfoss KPU 19?
Protect the tube from vibration and damage by proper routing and securing.
- When mounted directly on the compressor, secure the capillary tube to the compressor so both vibrate together.
- For other mounting, form surplus capillary tube into a loose loop and secure it to the mounting base.
- Leave slack in the tube to help dampen vibration.
- Avoid sharp bends with radius of 1/2 inch or less.
- Do not bend the tube within 1.75 inches from the soldering point at the bulb. Installation Guide, p. 2
