- Page 2: Thermostat quick reference Getting to know your thermostat Indicates the current room temperature. Displays the user selectable setpoint temperature. Hold is displayed when thermostat program is permanently overridden. System operation indicators: The COOL, HEAT, or FAN icon will display when the system is on. The compressor delay feature is active if these icons are flashing. This thermostat has 4 programmable time periods per day. Replace batteries when the low battery indicator is shown. The low battery indicator is displayed when the AA battery power is low. Insert 2 AA alkaline batteries to power the thermostat.
- Page 3: Thermostat operation Easy to use controls When the battery icon appears, replace your AA batteries immediately. Failure to do so may result in your heating and cooling system becoming inoperable. Auto changeover will switch between heating and cooling as needed. It is very important to make sure the cooling setpoint temperature is at least 3º above the heating setpoint temperature and that the heating setpoint temperature is at least 3º below the cooling setpoint temperature. Selects the operation mode of your HVAC system. Selecting HEAT turns on the heat mode. Selecting COOL turns on the air conditioning mode. Selecting OFF turns both heating and cooling off. Selecting AUTO will turn the HEAT or COOL on as needed. The glow in the dark light button will self illuminate for several hours after exposure to ambient light. This button turns on the display light when pressed. The ON key will run the fan continuously. The AUTO key will cycle the fan on only when the heating or cooling system is on. The programmable fan feature will run the fan continuously during any time period it is programmed to be on. This is the best way to keep the air circulated and to eliminate hot and cold spots in your building. Press the + or - buttons to select the desired room temperature. Use these buttons to set up your programming options.
- Page 4: Programming the thermostat Set time Follow the steps below to set the current time. Press MENU. Press SET TIME. Day of the week will be flashing. This TECH SET key is for installer configuration and should NOT be changed unless you consult your professional heating and air conditioning technician. Use the or key to select the current hour. When using 12-hour time, make sure the correct a.m. or p.m. choice is selected. Press DONE when completed. Set program schedule 5+1+1 To customize your 5+1+1 program schedule, follow these steps. You have to program heat and cool each separately.
- Page 5: Programming the thermostat involves setting a 7-day program schedule. You need to program heat and cool separately. To customize the schedule, select heat or cool using the system key. The filter change reminder will display when the air filter needs to be changed. Time will flash for you to make your time selection for the WAKE time period. You can select ON with the FAN key if you want the fan to run continuously during the WAKE time period. Repeat the steps for Monday's LEAVE, RETURN, and SLEEP time periods. For the remaining days of the week, repeat the same steps. The temporary hold feature allows the thermostat to maintain a setpoint until the next program period begins. Press the RUN SCHED key to exit either temporary or permanent hold.
