To prevent a short circuit from a loose wire -
Must be installed by a competent person.
• When using multi-core cables: Only remove enough outer
insulation to allow secure fixing of the cores into the terminal block.
To ensure your safety make sure the mains power
is switched OFF before accessing wiring.
• When using single core cables: Secure them together with
a cable tie as close as possible to the terminal block.

Wire the Thermostat
Power Up and Test
Power Up the Heating System and do a quick functional test
on the thermostat to check that it switches the boiler.

Find a suitable wall location away from draughts,
direct sunlight or other heat sources, and where cables
can be run from the boiler to the thermostat.
Press the button to increase
the temperature to maximum and
check the boiler switches on
– The heat demand icon on the
thermostat should be on.

Now press the button to decrease
the temperature to minimum and
check the boiler switches off
– The heat demand icon on the
thermostat should also go off.
A) Separate the wallplate from
the thermostat, and using a
screwdriver open the wallplate
terminal cover to connect wires.
B) Connect wires according
to wiring diagrams and
clip the cover closed.

How do I enter the advanced menu on the Honeywell T4M to configure settings?
Access the configuration menu to change parameters.
- Press and hold the two buttons together until the display changes (approximately 3 seconds).
- Use the navigation buttons to move through the parameter list.
- Use the adjustment buttons to change a parameter value.
- Press the save button to confirm, or press cancel to discard the change.
- Press the exit button to leave the advanced menu and save all changes. Installation Guide, p. 2
What does the heat demand icon on the Honeywell T4M Modulating thermostat indicate?
It shows when the thermostat is calling for heat from the boiler. It turns on when you raise the temperature and off when you lower it. Installation Guide, p. 2
What does parameter 9:LC Fail Safe mode control on the Honeywell T4M?
It determines boiler behaviour if the thermostat loses power: either off completely or on at 20% / 80% off.
