This thermostat is designed to control an electric heating system such as a baseboard  

heater, a radiant ceiling, a convector or a fan-forced heater.  

The thermostat CANNOT be used with:  

• a resistive load under 0.83 A  

• a resistive load over 14.6 A  

• a system driven by a contactor or a relay (inductive load)  

• a central heating system.  

WARNING Electrical Shock Hazard.  

This thermostat is a line voltage control (120–240 Volts). Do not install it if you  

are not completely familiar with house wiring. If handled improperly, there is risk  

of electric shock hazard, which may cause serious injury or death.

The product should not be disposed of with other household waste. Check for the nearest authorized collection centers or authorized recyclers. The correct disposal of end-of-life equipment will help prevent negative consequences for the environment and human health. Turn off power to the heating system at the main power panel to avoid electrical shock. All cables and connections must comply with local electrical codes. Install the thermostat about 5 ft. (1.5 m) high, on an inside wall facing the heater. Avoid locations where there are air drafts, dead air spots, or direct sunlight.
• Page 3: Wiring Connect the thermostat wires to the power and to the load using solderless connectors for copper wires. 2-wire installation 4-wire installation Thermostat mounting Push the excess wires back inside the electrical box. Secure the thermostat to the electrical box using the provided screws. If there is a protective film or sticker on the thermostat’s screen, peel it off. Apply power to the heating system. Verify the installation by checking that the heater can be turned on by raising the setpoint using the Up button and off by lowering the setpoint using the Down button. Keep the thermostat’s air vents clean and free from obstructions.
• Page 4: Clock and day setting Press the Day button to set the day. Use the Hour and Min buttons to set the clock. The clock must be set when the time is incorrect or flashes on the screen. Press the button to exit. • Page 5: Display elements include time, day, setpoint temperature, and room temperature. The thermostat indicates when settings are locked and when configured for a fan-forced heater. In Automatic mode, the thermostat adjusts its temperature setpoint according to the time of day. Users can program up to four periods (Wake, Leave, Return, Sleep) in a day. Two different programs can be set: one for weekdays and another for weekends. The default schedule includes specific start times and temperatures for each period. Temporary override allows modification of the setpoint temperature in Automatic mode. The new setpoint during override lasts until the next period begins. During override, Auto flashes on the screen. The override can be canceled by pressing the appropriate button.
• Page 6: To modify the schedule, press the Pgm button. Each time you press the Pgm button, the thermostat displays one of the periods of the schedule in the following order: Weekdays (MO TU WE TH FR) and Weekend (SA SU). Press the Hour and Min buttons to set the start time of the displayed period. To cancel the period, press the Mode button. Press the Up or Down button to set the temperature. To place the thermostat in Manual mode, press the Mode button until Man appears on the screen. In Manual mode, any modification to the temperature setpoint must be done manually. To place the thermostat in Away mode, press the Mode button until Away appears on the screen. This mode is a quick way to lower the temperature to a predetermined setting before you go away for an extended length of time. To disable heating, press the Mode button until Standby appears on the screen. In Standby mode, the setpoint temperature cannot be displayed or modified. For frost protection, heating will turn on only to prevent the room temperature from dropping below 41 °F (5 °C).
• Page 7: The first parameter appears when the menu is displayed. Press the Pgm button for 3 seconds to access advanced settings. To display the next parameter, press the Pgm button. To modify the displayed parameter, press the Up or Down button. To exit the menu, press the button or do not press any button for 1 minute. Temperature unit options include °F and °C, with a default setting of °F. Time format options are 12 hr and 24 hr, with a default setting of 12 hr. Away temperature is set to 59°F (15.0°C) by default. Daylight saving time can be set to On or Off. Keypad lock options include On and Off, with a default setting of Off.
• Page 8: Away temperature allows you to set the desired temperature for Away mode. Daylight Saving Time function automatically adjusts the thermostat on specific dates. Year, Month, Day parameters are available only when Daylight Saving Time is enabled. Early Start in Automatic mode determines when heating begins to reach the desired temperature. Keypad lock restricts access to settings, allowing only temperature viewing. Most problems with the thermostat require little attention and can be easily diagnosed. A hot thermostat condition is normal if the heater capacity is within limits. Incorrect temperature display may occur due to drafts or proximity to heat sources. If the thermostat loses power for over 5 hours, the time may display incorrectly. Temperature changes may not occur if the thermostat is not in Automatic mode or if the schedule is misconfigured.
• Page 9: LO is displayed when the measured temperature is below the display range. Heating is activated. HI is displayed when the measured temperature is above the display range. E1, E2 is displayed when the thermostat performance is reduced due to a sensor error. Resetting the thermostat returns all parameters, except the clock, to their default settings. To reset, press the Mode button until Standby appears, then press the button for 6 seconds. During a power outage, LP appears for the first minute, then the screen becomes blank. The settings are stored in memory during a power outage. If the power failure exceeds 4 hours, the thermostat’s clock must be readjusted. The thermostat will return to the mode of operation active prior to the power failure when power returns. Specifications include supply voltage, minimum and maximum load, display range, setpoint range, resolution, and storage temperature.
