- Page 5: LED-lights indicate the status of radio connection and operations. The light is on when the radio connection is established and turns off when lost. Pairing mode is active during inclusion, while exclusion mode indicates removal operations. Adaptation must be initiated for proper functioning. The light animates while adaptation is in progress. It also lights up when the key lock is activated or deactivated. A battery level below 15% is indicated by the light. Failure of removal operations is signaled by the light. The absence of a mounted valve or detection issues will trigger a light signal. The light indicates when valve movement is not possible or if the valve is stuck.
- Page 6: Installation The Comet Zigbee does not belong to any Zigbee network ex works and must be added to an existing network to communicate with other devices. This process is called inclusion, while leaving a network is called removal (exclusion). Both operations must be initiated by a primary Zigbee controller. Behavior in the Zigbee network The Comet Zigbee can be added to any Zigbee network and operate with other Zigbee certified devices and applications from other manufacturers. Non-battery powered network nodes act as repeaters and improve the reliability of the wireless network. Network security Comet Zigbee can communicate encrypted with other Zigbee devices if they support encrypted communication. A security enabled Zigbee controller is required to use the full functionality of the Comet Zigbee. Insert batteries Remove the battery cover by pulling it upwards by the notch. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity, and do not use rechargeable batteries. Reattach the battery cover by pressing it on until it clicks. The configuration of your Comet Zigbee will be preserved during battery changes.
- Page 7: Set up into a Zigbee network. Put your primary Zigbee controller into include mode. If Comet Zigbee was successfully added, the LED display will show the received node ID. Inclusion is executed. Counter counts down from 99. Inclusion successful. For Node-ID > 99: First hundreds digit flashing then 10s and 1s digit permanently on. Animation for reaching the mounting position runs. Inclusion error may occur. Press key to confirm or clear error message.
- Page 8: Mounting at a radiator involves several steps after adding the thermostat. The LED display shows an animation and then indicates Ad after the thermostat is added. Unscrew the old thermostatic head completely and pull it off the valve. Select a suitable adapter if necessary and mount it on the valve. Screw the thermostat onto the valve or adapter by turning the union nut clockwise. Continue with the adaptation process after mounting the Comet Zigbee on the valve. Remove the connecting pieces of the plastic adapters completely before using one of the enclosed adapters. No adapter is required for certain valves with a thread dimension of M30 x 1.5 mm. Adapters for specific valves like Danfoss RAV, RA, and RAVL are enclosed. You will need an adapter for various other valve types listed in the document.
- Page 9: You can purchase further metal adapters for a fee from our partners. An overview of the metal adapters and corresponding ordering options can be found under the provided link. If you are not sure which valve you have, see the adapter list in the FAQ section. Adaptation is executed. Press and hold the specified keys together for 3 seconds to start adaptation. If a new adaptation is required later, remove the batteries from the device and reinsert them. Target temperature of 21° is displayed.

- Page 12: Operating the device involves using the LED display to show the setpoint temperature or valve opening degree in actuator mode. The target temperature can be adjusted using specific buttons, and changing the setpoint temperature activates heating mode. The input range for the set temperature is between 8° and 28°C, with the device switching to boost or off mode if exceeded. Child protection or key lock can be activated or deactivated by holding down two buttons for three seconds when the display is off. At the highest protection level, local operation is disabled, and the child safety lock cannot be removed locally. Changing the operating mode includes off mode, heating mode, and boost mode, each requiring specific button presses. In window open detection mode, the device switches to off mode for 10 minutes if the temperature drops abruptly. The window open detection mode automatically exits after 10 minutes, restoring the previous active mode. In Manufacturer Specific Mode, window open detection is not executed. The sensitivity of the window open detection can be configured.
