NEOMITIS RTE7D, RTE7BD Wired Digital 7 Day Programmable Room Thermostat Instruction Manual Overview

Summary of Contents

  • Page 1: Installing batteries involves removing the battery cover and inserting two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. The digital room thermostat is fixed on the wall with a supplied wall plate. Secure the wall plate with two screws using horizontal and vertical holes. All electrical installation work should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. Wiring must comply with IEE regulations, and this product is for fixed wiring only. The thermostat should be installed approximately 1.5 m above floor level on an inside wall. It should be away from direct sunlight and sources of heat or cold. The thermostat measures the temperature of the location where it is installed. It does not account for temperature differences in various locations within the house. Recommended locations for the thermostat are crucial for accurate readings and effective control.
  • Page 2: Mounting of the thermostat involves replacing it on the wall mounting plate and securing it with locking screws. Optimum Start calculates how long the house will take to warm up and fires the boiler at the most efficient moment to reach the target temperature. Optimum Start works on a daily basis, ensuring warmth at the desired time while reducing wasted energy and saving money. Homeowners often set boiler times based on guesswork, leading to unnecessary energy waste. The thermostat can be set to prioritize comfort or energy savings based on various parameters. In OPTI COMFORT mode, the thermostat optimizes to guarantee maximum comfort during occupancy. In OPTI ECO mode, the thermostat optimizes for maximum energy savings throughout the ECO program. The processor within the thermostat starts the boiler operation at the optimum time to achieve the setpoint temperature. The summer/winter change will be performed automatically by the room thermostat. The default temperature setting is adjustable, and users can enable or disable automatic seasonal changes.
  • Page 3: Press and hold for 5 seconds to access the setting mode. The product is unlocked by default, OFF is displayed. When program lock function is turned on, certain functions will be disabled. In Mode Slider AUTO position, manual override will not work. The pre-set temperature is Celsius (°C). Important: Calibration is reserved for professional installers only; wrong changes may result in control anomalies. The calibration adjusts the temperature measured by the ambient temperature sensor. Before carrying out the calibration, it is recommended to wait for 4 hours after a setpoint temperature modification. In OPTI ECO mode, the thermostat optimizes for maximum energy savings. In OPTI COMFORT mode, the thermostat optimizes for maximum comfort during the program.
  • Page 4: - The thermostat is in Auto Mode but programs are not being executed by the boiler. - Ensure that the thermostat is in good working condition. - Change the batteries. - The OPTI COMFORT mode is activated by default. - The thermostat does not control properly. - Check that the communication works between the thermostat and boiler. - Technical specifications include power supply, battery life, and relay outputs. - Operation temperature ranges from 0°C to +40°C. - The heating does not come on or does not go off. - The symbol indicates that you must dispose of it at a special recycling point.

  • Page 6: Programming your thermostat requires setting the date and clock. The default year is flashing, and you can adjust it using the dial. The default month is also flashing and can be incremented or decremented with the dial. Optimum start helps reduce energy waste by firing the boiler at the most efficient time. In OPTI COMFORT mode, the focus is on maintaining maximum comfort. In OPTI ECO mode, the thermostat prioritizes energy savings. The processor anticipates the optimum time to start the boiler for comfort during occupancy. The summer/winter change is performed automatically by the thermostat. Single day programming allows you to set specific days for heating. Optimum Start calculates the best time to heat your home based on your schedule.
  • Page 7: Option 2: Multiday programming. Select first day by pressing enter then turn the dial to right, to add additional days to be programmed and press to confirm each additional day. Customizable default comfort temperature. Set the program comfort period. To set the first comfort start time, move the programming slider to position. Two temperatures can be set: comfort temperature and economy temperature. The default temperature is 20°C (68°F). To set the economy temperature, move the programming slider to position. This is the temperature that the unit will work to outside of your comfort periods. If you wish not to use a period then this can be done by coinciding the end time with start time.
  • Page 8: Factory settings Boost is cancelled by any press of button, movement of dial or slide. When Boost is running, the time and day disappear. The minute array will count down from 60 to indicate time left in Boost mode. Mode selection and description Auto mode: The unit is controlling to the time and temperature program that have been selected. Comfort mode: The unit is controlling continuously to the comfort temperature setpoint. Eco mode: The unit is controlling continuously to the eco temperature setpoint. Standby: Permanent standby mode with frost protection. To restore factory settings, press and hold down this part for more than 3 seconds using the tip of a pen. The boiler is not heating: Check that the thermostat is calling for heat. The system is not heating but is on: If an indicator light is on but the system remains cold, then you should contact your installer. Boost mode is a temporary mode which allows you to operate at the comfort temperature for 1 hour.
  • Page 9: Technical specifications What is a room thermostat A room thermostat simply switches the heating system on and off as necessary. It works by sensing the air temperature, switching on the heating when the air temperature falls below the thermostat setting. Turning a room thermostat to a higher setting will not make the room heat up any faster. By law in rented accommodation, your gas boiler should be inspected/serviced annually to ensure it is working correctly. The unit may display a message on the screen to remind you that a boiler service is due. The heating system will not work if a time switch or programmer has switched it off. The best way to set your room thermostat is to find the lowest temperature setting that you are comfortable with and leave it alone. Room thermostats need a free flow of air to sense the temperature, so they must not be covered by curtains or blocked by furniture.
