• Your thermostat is a precision instrument. Please handle it with care.
• Turn off electricity to the appliance before installing or servicing thermostat or any part
of the system. Do not turn electricity back on until work is completed.
• Do not short (jumper) across electric terminals at control on furnace or air conditioner
to test the system. This will damage the thermostat and void your warranty.
• All wiring must conform to local codes and ordinances.
• This thermostat is designed for use with 24 volt and millivolt systems. The thermostat
should be limited to a maximum of 1.0 amps; higher amperage may cause damage
to the thermostat. If you are in doubt, call your utility company.

- Page 2: Caution note: When replacing batteries, you have approximately 1 minute before programs are lost. Do not allow wires to touch each other or parts on the thermostat. Remove fresh batteries from their carton. Use Energizer® or Duracell® alkaline batteries only. Installation is now complete. The unit alternately displays the current time and the room temperature. In the winter, set the system switch to heat to control your heating system. Setting the fan switch to auto automatically runs your system’s fan during heating and cooling. You can use the built-in programs as shown, or change them as you wish. The unit requires batteries to retain its programming in memory.
- Page 3: Programming the unit allows you to change preset times and temperatures for weekday and weekend programs. Each period is programmed for heat and cool settings. A blank programming chart is provided for recording temperature settings. The thermostat works by turning the heating or cooling system on and off based on room temperature variations, known as the swing. Select heat to program for controlling your heater and cool for your air conditioner. To change the temperature swing, adjust the setting between 1-9. To prevent tampering with set programs, a program lock feature is available. You must press reset after enabling certain features, which requires reprogramming the thermostat. Changing from Fahrenheit to Celsius or a 12-hour clock to a 24-hour clock will require resetting the thermostat. The temperature override feature allows you to change the current temperature without altering stored programs. The vacation temperature hold feature protects your home from freezing by maintaining a temperature of approximately 40°F.
