Summary of Contents
- Page 1: Owner’s Manual Programmable digital thermostat 7-Day programmable Occupied modes, unoccupied mode Auto changeover Quick start: Set the clock and go Large, easy to read display Thermoglow™ backlight Energy saving smart fan Important: Follow installation instructions before proceeding Caution: Set thermostat to mode “off” prior to changing settings in setup or restoring factory defaults.
- Page 2: Quick Start Set the clock and go. Pressing the mode button selects different flashing items. Mode indicators select the operation mode of the equipment. Cool indicates the air conditioning mode. Heat indicates the heat mode. Auto indicates the system will automatically changeover between the heat and cool modes. Off indicates the entire system is turned off. Program on indicates the stored program is enabled to run. The thermostat is preprogrammed from the factory to operate equipment without the need for further programming. Clock with day of the week indicates the current time and day. Room temperature display indicates the current room temperature.
- Page 3: Basic operation includes selecting modes and programming occupied and unoccupied periods. The HEAT setting indicates the temperature the room must reach before the unit activates to heat. The COOL setting indicates the temperature the room must reach before the unit activates to cool. AUTO mode will automatically select heat or cool based on room temperature demand. Adjust the cooling set point for occupied periods and unoccupied periods. Program On activates the stored timer operation for occupied and unoccupied periods. Select the desired temperature in any mode, adjusting the set point temperature as needed. During programmed unoccupied periods, pressing the Override button temporarily forces the thermostat into Occupied 1 comfort settings. With each press of the Override button, the timer adds 30 minutes until a maximum of 4 hours is reached. In Override mode, the set point temperatures are adjustable unless the keypad is locked.
- Page 4: Programming occupied and unoccupied periods is essential for effective scheduling. The unoccupied settings take effect when the program is on and the current time is outside a preset occupied period. If the same start and stop times are programmed for an occupied period, it will run 24 hours. The copy command allows for easy duplication of the previous day's program until Saturday is copied to Sunday. If one occupied period starts and stops within another, the lower occupied number has priority. To program Occupied 2 and Occupied 3 modes, repeat the programming steps for Occupied 1. Heat and cool set points for Occupied 1 are the same for every day of the week. Occupied 2 and 3 can have different settings for each day if desired. If only one occupied period is selected, programming steps for Occupied 2 and 3 are skipped. If the start time is set later than the stop time, the program will run from the start time.
- Page 5: - The heat and cool set point temperature will not come closer than the value set in Advanced Setup. - Energy saving smart fan will run continuously except in Off mode and during unoccupied periods only if there is a heating or cooling demand. - Pressing the Override button during an unoccupied period will force the thermostat into Occupied 1 temporarily. - The first stage of heat is the heat pump, and the second stage includes both the heat pump and electric heat. - The fan purge timer activates the fan during unoccupied periods prior to Occupied 1. - To lock the keypad, press and hold the Mode button and then press the Up and Down buttons together. - The dry contact switch allows external devices to force the thermostat into Occupied 1. - The internal clock will keep proper time for a minimum of 48 hours without power. - The second stage of heat is activated under specific conditions related to the first stage and temperature spread. - The fan speeds can be set to low, medium, or high for different stages of operation.
- Page 6: About advanced features and operation Holiday mode forces the thermostat into unoccupied for a preset duration, up to 99 days. The thermostat automatically recognizes when a remote sensor is connected. During holiday mode, unoccupied set points are enforced. The override button on the remote sensor works differently than the override button on the front panel. The thermostat will exit holiday mode at midnight of the final programmed day. Soft start feature staggers the turn-on times for multiple thermostats controlled by dry contact terminals. To restore factory defaults, set the thermostat to off mode and follow specific button presses. The adjustable set point range is 35 to 99 degrees Fahrenheit and 7 to 35 degrees Celsius. When in heat or cool modes, the adjustable range is unhampered. The thermostat will not allow the heat set point to get closer to the cool set point than the programmed minimum difference.
