How do I install the Hotwire HWGL2 before wiring it to the heating system?

Separate the front and back plate, then secure the back plate to the flush box.

1. Unscrew the small screw at the bottom of the thermostat.
2. Carefully separate the front half from the back plate.
3. Unplug the ribbon connector from the front half.
4. Set the front half aside in a safe place.
5. Screw the back plate onto the flush box.
6. Reconnect the ribbon cable and clip the two halves together. Instructions, p. 3
