- Page 3: Setting up the CMR707 This section shows you how to setup and run the thermostat in 3 simple steps. Step 1: Installing the Batteries If the ‘Low Battery’ Indicator is showing or the thermostat screen is blank, replace the batteries. To install the batteries, lift up the front cover of the thermostat to reveal the battery cover and product controls. Insert the 2 x AA LR6 Alkaline Batteries supplied with the thermostat, ensuring the correct orientation. Step 2: Setting the Day and Time Press the DAY button once and the ‘day indicator’ will begin to flash. Press the DAY button until the correct day is reached, then press the green button to confirm. Step 3: Running the Built-in Heating Program The thermostat is now ready for operation. Press the AUTO button and the built-in heating program will start running. The built-in heating program has been designed to provide normal comfort requirements. Programming the CMR707 The built-in heating program has 4 temperature level changes per day that can be set between 3.00am and 2.50am the following day.
- Page 4: Efficient daily use Programming the CMR707 You now have a choice of how to set the program for the next day. Reviewing the heating program To review or edit the heating program use the PROGRAM button. Press the COPY DAY button to copy Monday’s program into Tuesday. - Page 5: Operating modes include Automatic, Manual, and Off. The holiday function allows setting a constant temperature for a specified number of days to save energy while away from home. In AUTO mode, the thermostat follows a built-in temperature program for comfort and energy savings. MAN mode sets the thermostat to a fixed temperature setting. The thermostat can maintain a temperature from 5°C to 35°C during the holiday function. During normal operation, the thermostat displays the current room temperature. Pressing the button allows reviewing the programmed target temperature. Adjusting the time can be done using the time buttons and confirming with the green button. Temperature override in AUTO mode allows manual adjustment of the programmed temperature. The temperature override is canceled at the next programmed temperature change.
- Page 6: Troubleshooting the CMR707 Blank display (power loss). Check batteries are installed by removing the battery cover. Check batteries have been installed in the correct orientation. Replace the batteries. Display shows flashing symbol. The batteries in the thermostat are low on power - replace the batteries. Display shows symbol. A fault has occurred in your heating system. Remove and re-insert the batteries. If the symbol does not clear after a few minutes contact your installer. When setting my program the following is displayed --:-- --.-. The time period has been disabled, to enable see ‘Disabling / Enabling Time Periods’ on page 4. The symbol is displayed but the boiler is not firing. This may be due to the internal controls of the boiler. How do I set one temperature for the whole day? To operate as a simple thermostat with one temperature throughout the day, select the manual operating mode by pressing the MAN button. How do I change the batteries on the thermostat when they run out? The thermostat constantly monitors the battery power level, which typically lasts for about years before needing replaced. When the power is running low, a flashing symbol will be displayed on the screen. To change the batteries follow the steps in the above section (‘STEP 1: Installing the Batteries’ on page 3). Note: While changing the batteries your program settings will be stored but you may need to adjust the time settings to be correct. The thermostat will continue to maintain this temperature until another operating mode is selected or the temperature is adjusted.
- Page 7: What is a programmable room thermostat? A programmable room thermostat is both a programmer and a room thermostat. A programmer allows you to set ‘On’ and ‘Off’ time periods to suit your own lifestyle. A room thermostat works by sensing the air temperature and switching on the heating when the air temperature falls below the thermostat setting. A programmable room thermostat lets you choose what times you want the heating to be on and what temperature it should reach while it is on. Turning a programmable room thermostat to a higher setting will not make the room heat up any faster. The way to set and use your programmable room thermostat is to find the lowest temperature settings that you are comfortable with. If your heating system is a boiler with radiators, there will usually be only one programmable room thermostat to control the whole house. The time on the programmer must be correct and may need adjustments during seasonal changes. Programmable room thermostats need a free flow of air to sense the temperature and must not be covered or blocked.
