- Page 2: Installing thermostat Check wire terminal compatibility with user guide before starting installation. Inside your Daisy thermostat box includes the Daisy Wi-Fi thermostat, thermostat base, mounting hardware, quick guide, and wiring labels. Switch power OFF to your HVAC system at the breaker box or the system switch to protect your system. This thermostat works with common 24 volt systems and will not work with millivolt systems or with 120/240 volt systems. To avoid possible compressor damage, do not run air conditioner if the outside temperature drops below 50˚F (10˚C). Leave wires connected and remove old thermostat from wall. Take photos of wire connections to reference later. Do not place your old thermostat in the trash if it contains mercury. Contact the Thermostat Recycling Corporation for proper disposal. Label the wires using the tags included, according to your existing thermostat terminal assignments, not by color. Blank tags are provided to write the terminal label if you find no matching tags exist.
- Page 3: Installing thermostat Remove the wallplate. After all wires have been labeled and disconnected, remove the existing wallplate from the wall. Separate the new Wi-Fi thermostat from its wall plate. Mount new Wi-Fi thermostat wallplate. Screws and anchors are provided to mount the new wallplate. Wiring for conventional system. You must have a C Wire or equivalent. Repeat steps for remaining wires. Excess wire should be pushed back into opening of wall.
- Page 4: Installing thermostat Wiring will be specific to each application and may be different than wiring shown below. You must have a C wire or equivalent. Start with the C wire and continue to match the rest of the tags on the wires to the terminal labels. Loosen the screw. Insert wire on inside edge of terminal, then tighten screw. Give wire a gentle tug to confirm wire is secured. Repeat steps for remaining wires. Excess wire should be pushed back into opening of wall. If the old thermostat has separate wires on AUX and E, place both wires into the AUX/E terminal. No jumper is required. You must have a C wire or equivalent for alternate wiring for conventional system. Remove metal jumper if the old thermostat had both R and RH wires.
- Page 5: Installing thermostat Alternate wiring for heat pump system only. You must have a C wire or equivalent to install. If the old thermostat had separate wires on AUX and E, insert both wires into the AUX/E terminal. If the old thermostat had an O wire and not a B wire, insert the O wire to the O/B terminal. Attach the new Wi-Fi thermostat to wallplate. Verify the C wire is connected at the thermostat and at the HVAC system. Check that thermostat and the wallplate are aligned, then snap securely into place. Switch HVAC system ON. Set-up thermostat (see User Guide).
