PRO T751 Thermostat Installation Guide Overview

Summary of Contents

  • Page 1: Installation tips include selecting a location approximately 4 to 5 feet above the floor with average temperature and good air circulation. Avoid installing the thermostat close to hot or cold air ducts, in direct sunlight, or with an outside wall behind it. Do not place the thermostat in areas that do not require conditioning or where there are dead spots or drafts. A trained technician must install the product, and the installation location should be easily accessible for the user. Carefully read the instructions to avoid damaging the product or creating hazardous conditions. Disconnecting the power before installation is crucial to prevent electrical shock or equipment damage. All products are mercury-free, but if replacing a mercury-containing product, dispose of it properly. For vertical mounting, use one screw on the top and one on the bottom; for horizontal mounting, use one screw on the left and one on the right. Battery installation is optional if the thermostat is hardwired, but high-quality alkaline batteries are recommended for a longer lifespan. The LCD display is located on the back of the thermostat, and the private label badge can be removed using a screwdriver without applying force.
  • Page 2: Thermostat quick reference Getting to know your thermostat Caution: Electrical hazard Failure to disconnect the power before beginning to install this product can cause electrical shock or equipment damage. If you are replacing a thermostat, make note of the terminal connections on the thermostat that is being replaced. Warning: All components of the control system and the thermostat installation must conform to Class II circuits per the NEC Code. The low battery indicator is displayed when the AA battery power is low. If the user fails to replace the batteries after an additional 21 days, the setpoints will change to 55˚F (Heating) and 85˚F (Cooling). Do not overtighten terminal block screws, as this can damage the terminal block. Max torque = 6in-lbs. This thermostat is hardwire powered when the 24V transformer is connected to the Common and RC terminals of the thermostat.
  • Page 3: Wiring diagrams Technician setup menu This thermostat has a technician setup menu for easy installer configuration. To set up the thermostat for your particular application, hold down the + and - buttons together for 3 seconds. You can adjust the room temperature display to read up to 4˚ above or below the factory calibrated reading. The swing setting, often called “cycle rate,” is adjustable. The cooling swing setting is adjustable from 0.2˚ to 2˚. The heating swing setting is adjustable from 0.2˚ to 2˚. Temperature swing can be customized for individual applications. This setting allows the thermostat to operate a PTAC. This setting allows you to select the number of heat and cool stages.
  • Page 4: Tech settings allow for various adjustments including heat and cool setpoint limits. The LCD will show adjustment options for setting a maximum heating setpoint limit. A minimum cooling setpoint limit can also be set, which cannot be lowered below a specified value. The minimum compressor run time can be configured to ensure the compressor runs for a selected time before turning off. The display can show temperatures in Fahrenheit or Celsius. The display light can be configured to stay on continuously or turn on when a key is pressed. The compressor short cycle delay protects the compressor from short cycling by preventing it from turning on for a specified time after being turned off. The cooling fan delay setting allows for energy savings by delaying the fan from turning on and keeping it running after the compressor shuts off. Specifications include a display range of 41˚F to 95˚F and a control range of 44˚F to 90˚F. The thermostat operates within a temperature range of 32˚F to +105˚F and has a maximum operating humidity of 90% non-condensing.
