The T-32-P has been designed to be an attractive, highly reliable and easy-to-use thermostat. By taking the time to read and understand this operation manual, you can take advantage of the many user features offered in this premium product. It is the responsibility of the user to ensure that this thermostat, or equipment connected to it, is operating to their respective specifications and in a safe manner. Due to ongoing product improvements, IO HVAC Controls reserves the right to change the specifications of the T-32-P thermostat without notice. The T-32-P can be used for both residential and commercial applications. The thermostat can be either programmable or non-programmable. This operation manual is broken into the following main sections: Residential Programmable Mode, Commercial Programmable Mode, Non-programmable Mode, and Common Functions. The T-32-P can be configured for a wide range of HVAC systems and applications requiring specific functions.
- Page 3: Residential programmable mode allows for various operation settings. Press the mode key to cycle through heat, cool, auto changeover, emergency heat, and off modes. The fan key allows cycling through fan selections, including auto and on modes. In auto mode, the HVAC system fan runs only with a call for heating or cooling. In on mode, the HVAC system fan runs continuously. Setting the clock is essential for programming functions to operate correctly. To set the clock, press the prog key to adjust the hour, minutes, and day of the week. Use the up and down keys to set the current hour, minutes, and day. Press the prog key to exit the clock and day of week program. Ensure the time and day are set properly for programmed events to run correctly.
- Page 4: Programming 4 daily events The T-32-P can be programmed to provide 4 individual time-of-day temperature settings for each day of the week. Each event is noted on the LCD by numerals 1, 2, 3, 4. At the start of each event, the programmed heating and cooling temperature will be maintained until the next event starts. Entering the program mode requires holding the PROG key down for 3 seconds. The display will show the number and the day MON will flash. Use the up or down key to set the day you wish to start programming. Press the PROG key again and the hour will flash. Use the up or down key to set the time you wish to start. Press the PROG key again and the minutes will flash. There must be at least a 2 degree difference between the heating and cooling temperatures.
- Page 5: Press the PROG key again and the same day selected will be shown along with the number, which represents the second program event. The hour will flash indicating that this value can now be programmed. Make sure that the AM/PM is correct. Press the PROG key again and the minutes will flash. Use the up or down key to select the desired temperature to be maintained for the program time period. Continue to press the PROG key to advance through each programming step for program events. To copy all the values you have programmed to other days of the week, press the up or down key and select each additional day you wish to duplicate the program. If you chose to have the next day represent a different program, simply press the PROG key after the word COPY appears. The T-32-P has a temporary program override function that permits you to change the current event set temperatures for a fixed period of time. To place the T-32-P in the temporary temperature override mode, press the up or down key.
- Page 6: The LCD will flash the current program number to indicate an override is in progress. Override temperature settings will remain in effect until the override time expires or the next scheduled event. You can return to the programmed schedule by pressing the O/RIDE key twice. Press the O/RIDE key to activate a permanent temperature hold. The current programmed heating and cooling temperatures can be adjusted using the up or down key. To return to the programmed schedule, press the O/RIDE key until the hold indication is removed. You can review the set temperatures at any time by pressing the up or down key. The factory default schedule includes setpoints for heating and cooling from Monday to Sunday. Press the MODE key to cycle through the modes of operation displayed on the LCD. Emergency heat is available when the T-32-P is configured for a heat pump system.
- Page 7: FAN selection allows cycling through fan options with details on fan functions available on page 20. In auto mode, the HVAC system fan operates only during heating or cooling calls. In on mode, the HVAC system fan runs continuously. The T-32-P features a real-time clock for programming functions, requiring proper time and day settings for accurate event scheduling. To set the clock, press the PROG key until the hour flashes, then adjust using the up or down key. Continue setting minutes and day of the week by pressing the PROG key and adjusting as needed. The commercial programmable mode allows for two daily schedules with separate heating and cooling setpoints. Programming steps are similar to residential settings but limited to two events per day. To enter program mode, hold the PROG key for three seconds, then set the desired day and time for programming. Ensure AM/PM settings are correct when programming the start time.
- Page 8: Press the PROG key again and the LCD will display the word SET and the temperature setting for the current mode (Heat or Cool). If Auto mode is selected, wait 3 seconds after adjusting the first mode setpoint for the T-32-P to show the next mode setpoint. Press the PROG key again and the LCD will display STOP. To copy the start and stop times you have programmed to other days of the week, press the COPY up or down key and select each additional day you wish to duplicate the program. If you chose to have the next day represent a different start and stop time, simply press the PROG key after the word COPY appears. To place the T-32-P in the temporary temperature override mode, press the up or down key. The HVAC installer will have set the override period from 1 to 12 hours. To manually cancel the override, press the O/RIDE key twice. Press the O/RIDE key to hold the current programmed heating and cooling temperatures permanently. To return to the programmed schedule, press the O/RIDE key until the word is no longer displayed.
- Page 9: Reviewing set temperatures can be done by pressing the up or down key. In many commercial applications, code requires constant ventilation during occupied periods. The HVAC installer can configure the T-32-P to allow the fan to run continuously during the START schedule. When the thermostat changes to the STOP schedule, the fan shuts down and only operates with a heating or cooling call. Factory defaults include setpoints for Monday to Saturday and Saturday to Sunday. The default schedule specifies start times for heating and cooling. Press the MODE key to cycle through the modes of operation displayed on the LCD. Available modes include heat mode, cool mode, auto changeover, emergency heat, and off. Press the FAN key to cycle through the fan selections. The HVAC system fan can be set to run only with a call for heating or cooling, or continuously.
- Page 10: Setting the clock The T-32-P has a real-time clock. To set the clock, press the PROG key until the hour flashes on the LCD. Use the up or down key to set the current hour along with the AM and PM symbol. Press the PROG key again until the minutes flash. Use the up or down key to set the current minutes. Press the PROG key again until the day flashes. Use the up or down key to set the correct day of the week. Press the PROG again to exit the clock and day of week program. Setting the temperatures Press the up or down key for 3 seconds. The T-32-P will display the word SET and the temperature setting for the current mode. If Auto mode is selected, after adjusting the heating temperature wait without touching a key for 3 seconds. The T-32-P will change to show Cool and SET. Press the up or down key to change the temperature setting for cooling. Wait 3 seconds and the T-32-P will automatically exit the menu. The new temperature settings will be maintained in memory. Switching between day and night temperature settings The T-32-P will keep two heat and two cool temperature settings. To toggle between the Day and Night settings, press the PROG key. Set the Day and Night temperature settings as previously described. Reviewing set temperatures You can review the set temperatures at any time by simply pressing the up or down key. Common functions The MODE key is used to cycle through the available modes.
- Page 11: O/RIDE key is used to override the programmed schedule and hold the current set temperature indefinitely. In commercial mode, the O/RIDE key functions as an after hours run timer for a programmed period established by the HVAC installer. The LCD will display the flashing word TIMER when the O/RIDE key is pressed. The Up key is used to increase a desired temperature or value in programming. The Down key is used to decrease a desired temperature or value in programming. The PROG key is used to set the clock and program daily events in both residential and commercial modes. In manual mode, the PROG key is used to set the clock and switch between Day and Night modes. The FAN key selects continuous fan or intermittent fan operation. The Advanced Fan function runs the fan continuously during occupied mode and only with a call for heating or cooling in unoccupied mode. When in Heat mode, the LCD displays the word Heating during a call for heating.
- Page 12: Cooling call When the T-32-P is in the cool mode and there is a call for cooling, the LCD will display the word Cooling. If the word Cool flashes, this confirms that the T-32-P is initiating a time delay before the cooling call takes place. The T-32-P is capable of many advanced control options. Not all LCD symbols may appear on your specific thermostat configuration.
- Page 13: Troubleshooting LCD display is blank Check HVAC circuit breaker and reset if necessary. Make sure power switch at HVAC system is on. Make sure furnace door is closed securely. Heating or cooling system does not respond Press MODE key to set system to Heat. Make sure the temperature is set higher than the inside temperature. Press MODE key to set system to Cool. Make sure the temperature is set lower than the inside temperature. Check circuit breaker and reset if necessary. If Heat or Cool is flashing, the T-32-P has initiated an equipment protection time delay. Wait 4 minutes for the system to restart. If for any reason your T-32-P does not function properly, contact your installing HVAC contractor.
