Honeywell Communicating Fan Coil Thermostat Instruction Manual Overview

Summary of Contents

  • Page 1: Communicating Fan Coil Thermostat The TF428WNM/U communicating thermostat is designed for 3-speed fan and valve control in fan coil system. The TF428WNM/U is available in Modbus RTU protocol and can be easily integrated into building automation system. Features include RS485 interface in Modbus RTU slave mode, LCD display with simple user interface, and manual or automatic fan speed selectable. Setpoint range is 10 ~ 32°C and display range is 0 ~ 37°C. Power consumption is less than 2W with a control accuracy of ±1°C at 21°C. Protection class is IP20, and the ambient operating limits are 0~49°C. Humidity limits are 5~90% RH, non-condensing. User setting can be stored when power loss occurs, and freeze protection function is available. Keypad lock options are included for added security.

  • Page 3: Backlight function allows the user to turn on the backlight by pressing any key, which will timeout after 8 seconds of inactivity. In ISU or installation test mode, the backlight will timeout after 60 seconds. The thermostat measures room temperature via an integrated sensor and maintains the setpoint through on/off valve control commands. Fan settings can be selected as manual or automatic 3-speed operation, with manual mode allowing selection of high, medium, or low speeds. In auto mode, fan speed adjusts based on the difference between room temperature and setpoint. Keypad lockout can be configured in ISU or over Modbus, with various options for locking buttons. The displayed temperature can be set to show either room temperature or setpoint during the ISU process. The Cycle Per Hour (CPH) function enables the thermostat to open the valve multiple times per hour as the room temperature approaches the setpoint. Comfort mode allows changes to setpoint and fan speed through corresponding buttons, applicable for various heating and cooling configurations. The time off feature automatically turns off the thermostat after a selectable duration, with a range from 0 to 12 hours.
  • Page 4: Ventilation mode allows the fan to operate at the selected speed without output for the valve. Freeze protection mode can be enabled or disabled and activates heating when the temperature is below 6°C. The thermostat will heat until the temperature rises to 8°C in freeze protection mode. The unit can be installed in a standard 86 size junction box. Screws must be tightly locked to prevent wire breakage from terminals. The mounting box and wall temperature should be within the operating range.
