Can I boost heating on Hive Mini for different lengths of time?

Yes. Boost duration ranges from 15 minutes up to 6 hours, either through the app or directly on the device. User Guide, p. 6

How do I change the batteries in Hive Mini?

Pull the front away from the backplate, lift it off the wall hooks and flip it over.

1. Pop out the old batteries
2. Install four new AAA batteries
3. Re-hook the top and press the bottom until it clicks to secure it User Guide, p. 8
