  • Page 2: Internal and external wiring connections Internal wiring connections The ThermoPlus has voltage free contacts. A link L - 2 is required for mains voltage applications. The ThermoPlus PRT1 is mains operated, not battery powered. Rear view of the ThermoPlus. Connector pins. Capacity label. Production date label.
  • Page 3: Wiring diagrams provide an example circuit diagram for a typical combination boiler installation. The diagram is schematic and should be used as a guide only. Ensure that all installations comply with current IET regulations and the boiler manufacturer's installation instructions. Not every connection is included in the diagram, and some Earth connections have been omitted for clarity. Terminals L-2 should not be linked. For precise terminal connection information, refer to the boiler manufacturer's instructions. The installation and connection of the Thermoplus PRT1 should only be carried out by a suitably qualified person. Always consult the specific boiler manufacturer's installation instructions before commencing the installation. Isolate the mains supply before commencing installation.
  • Page 4: Fitting the Backplate involves ensuring the ThermoPlus is re-sealed to prevent damage from dust and debris. The Backplate should be fitted with the wiring terminals located at the top and should allow for a clearance of at least 50mm around the thermostat. The ThermoPlus should be mounted on an internal wall approximately 1.5 metres from floor level, away from draughts, direct heat, and sunlight. For direct wall mounting, mark the fixing positions through the slots in the Backplate, drill and plug the wall, then secure the plate in position. The slots in the Backplate will compensate for any misalignment of the fixings. The Backplate may be fitted directly onto a single gang steel flush wiring box complying with BS4662, using two M3.5 screws. ThermoPlus thermostats are suitable for mounting on a flat surface only. They must not be positioned on a surface mounted wall box or on unearthed metal surfaces.
  • Page 5: Electrical connections should be made properly. Flush wiring can enter from the rear through the backplate aperture. Surface wiring must enter from beneath the ThermoPlus and be securely clamped. Mains supply terminals should be connected to the supply using fixed wiring. The ThermoPlus requires a 3 Amp fused spur. Recommended cable sizes are 1.0mm² or 1.5mm². The ThermoPlus is double insulated and does not require an Earth connection. An Earth connection block is provided on the backplate for terminating cable Earth conductors. Earth continuity must be maintained, and all bare Earth conductors must be sleeved. Ensure no conductors are left protruding outside the central space enclosed by the backplate.
  • Page 6: Installer operating guide provides instructions on how the system works. Warm is indicated by red lights, while cool is indicated by a blue light. The centre button allows toggling between warm and cool settings. Pressing the '+' button increases the temperature by 1 or 2 degrees Celsius. The '-' button lowers the temperature to the central position or below it. The blue light indicates the unit is working to lower temperature, disabling the '+' and '-' buttons. A blue button under the flap allows for turning off central heating during long periods. To return to normal operation, open the flap and press the blue button again. Always remember to close the flap after adjusting settings.
