THERMOSTAT LOCATION
Please read the entire install manual. The thermostat will need
to be correctly wired and configured for proper operation.
Basic HVAC configuration can be performed from the
thermostat touchscreen and advanced settings are accessed
via a computer interface.
For proper operation, the thermostat should be mounted on
an inside wall in a frequently occupied area of the space. In
addition, its position must be at least 18” (46 cm) from any
outside wall, and approximately 5’ (1.5 m) above the floor in a
location with freely circulating air of an average temperature.

The thermostat will need to be correctly wired and configured for proper operation. Basic HVAC configuration can be performed from the thermostat touchscreen and advanced settings are accessed via a computer interface. For proper operation, the thermostat should be mounted on an inside wall in a frequently occupied area of the space. The X5N-NX thermostat is a network connected color touchscreen thermostat designed for new or replacement commercial or residential applications. The X5N-NX includes an integrated XBus communications port that allows wired communications when used with an NT-IPXB. Core features include a beautiful color selectable touchscreen display and computerized heat anticipation and cooling droop. Turn off the power to HVAC equipment before beginning installation. Supports up to 11 remote sensors for monitoring various conditions. This manual and its content are a copyright of Network Thermostat - © Network Thermostat 2020. All rights reserved.
- Page 2: Reconnect power to the HVAC equipment to configure your thermostat for operation. Select between °F (Fahrenheit) or °C (Celsius) temperature display. °F is the default. Minimum On Time: Default is 2 minutes, select between 0-5 minutes. Aux Heat Differential (Heat Pump Operation): Default is 1˚F (0.5˚C), select between 1-6˚F (0.5-3˚C). Minimum Off Time: Default is 4 minutes, select between 2 to 5 minutes. Remote Sensor (Averaging): The thermostat can either use remote sensors or average the remote sensor and internal temperature sensor. Temperature Override Range (During Lockout): Default is ±3˚F (±1.5˚C), with a range from ±2˚F (±1˚C) to ±8˚F (±4˚C). High & Low Balance Point Configuration: The thermostat can disable auxiliary heat during warmer weather and lock out the compressor during colder weather. Calibration Offset: The thermostat includes a temperature calibration offset with a range of ±6˚F (±3˚C) in 0.2˚F (0.1˚C) increments. Maximum Heat Temperature: Default is 88˚F (31˚C), sets the maximum temperature range between 43˚F to 88˚F (6˚C to 31˚C).
- Page 3: This NetX™ thermostat product has default setpoints that can reduce heating/cooling expenses by as much as 33%. The screen lock feature restricts access to the HVAC settings menu and requires a 4-digit PIN for temporary unlocking. After a power failure, the thermostat will delay the heating/cooling equipment start-up by 1-24 seconds to minimize electric power usage. The thermostat maintains operation settings during power failures and returns to the proper mode when power is restored. Temporary override allows changing the temperature setting without affecting schedules, even when the keypad is locked. Remote sensor information is available on the secondary display if installed with one or more NetX™ remote sensors. The thermostat can be powered independently of the HVAC unit if necessary, using a separate power source. When the thermostat is locked, a 4-digit PIN can be entered to temporarily unlock the faceplate. The thermostat features a factory default setpoint for heating and cooling. The emergency heat icon indicates when the system has engaged emergency heat mode.
- Page 4: Independent power source specifications include rated voltage of 20V to 30VAC and rated current of 0.05 to 0.75 AC / 0.0 to 0.75 DC Amp continuous. The temperature control range for heating is 38°F to 88°F and for cooling is 60°F to 108°F. Thermostat sensing range is from 32°F to 118°F with a control accuracy of ±1°F at 68°F. Minimum deadband is 2°F. Equipment terminations include R for 24V switching voltage, W1 for heat, G for fan, and Y1/Y2 for compressors. Power terminations consist of 24V for remote power and 24V(c) for power common. The warranty is a five-year limited warranty against defects in workmanship and materials. Warranty limitations include conditions under which the warranty is void, such as defaced serial numbers and improper installation. Owner's responsibilities include providing proof of purchase and normal maintenance. FCC regulatory information states that the equipment complies with Class B digital device limits to prevent harmful interference.
