Orange and red temperature scale shows heating is on. Flame symbol appears when heating is active. Mode display (bottom right) shows Auto, Manual or Off. User Guide, p. 2

Thermostat won't power on after boiler mains switch is turned on?

The device should power up automatically when the boiler switches on.

Check wiring is correctly connected to the OpenTherm connection, not the 230V connections
Verify the cable runs through the strain relief
