• Page 2: Quick installation guide Turn power off at the breaker box or switch that controls your heating/cooling system. Check that your system is off by changing the temperature on your old thermostat. If you have a digital thermostat with a blank display, skip the step of checking if the system is off. Remove the old thermostat’s faceplate by grasping and gently pulling. Do not remove any wires from your thermostat at this time. Ensure there are no 120/240V wires present. If you have thick black wires with wire nuts, you may have a line voltage system. A thermostat will not work with a line voltage system.
• Page 3: RTH6360 Series Take a picture of how your wiring looks right now. Be sure to include the letters next to the terminals where the wires are inserted. If the color of your wires has faded or if 2 terminals have the same wire color, use the wire labels provided in the package to label each wire. Remove any jumpers. A jumper connects one terminal to another terminal and must be removed before continuing. The RTH6360 thermostat does not need jumpers. Record if you have wires in the specified terminals. Do not include jumpers as a part of your count. Write down the color of the wires. Check mark the wires that are connected to terminals. The RTH6360 thermostat does not support L/A, S, or U terminals. If there are wires in terminals that are not listed, you will need additional wiring support.
• Page 4: Quick installation guide Disconnect the wires and remove the old wall plate. Use a screwdriver to release wires from terminals. Identify each wire as it’s disconnected with a wire label. The letter on the wire label should match the letter on the terminal. To prevent wires from falling back into the wall, wrap the wires around a pencil. Bundle and insert wires through the UWP. Pull open the UWP and insert the bundle of wires through the back. Make sure at least 1/4-inch of each wire is exposed for easy insertion into the wire terminals.
• Page 5: RTH6360 Series Insert the wall anchors. It is recommended that you use the wall anchors included in the box to mount your thermostat. You can use the UWP to mark where you want to place the wall anchors. Level the wall plate. Mark the location of the wall anchors using a pencil. Drill the holes. Insert wall anchors. Make sure anchors are flush with the wall. Set R-switch position and insert R-wire or wires. Insert wires into the inner holes of the terminals on the UWP.
• Page 6: Quick installation guide Connect wires from Step 8. Depress the tabs to put the wires into the inner holes of their corresponding terminals on the UWP. Gently tug on the wires to verify they are secure. Tip: If you need to release the wires again, push down the terminal tabs on the sides of the UWP. Confirm wiring matches snapshot. Use 3x supplied screws #8 1-1/2”. Mount the UWP and close the door. Install all three screws for a secure fit on your wall. Insert two AA alkaline batteries in the back of the thermostat as shown. Align the thermostat onto the UWP and firmly snap it into place.
• Page 7: RTH6360 Series Turn your power ON. Turn on the power at the breaker box or switch that controls the heating/cooling system. Set date and time. If this is not a new installation, see pages 15-16 for setting the date and time. Set the date. Press + or - to adjust the year. Press Select. Choose a clock format. Press + or - to set the clock format: 12 hour or 24 hour. Press Select. Set the time. Press + or - to adjust the hour. Press Select.
• Page 8: Quick installation guide System setup If this is not a new installation, see page 14 for entering setup menu. Select system setup options. Press + or - to change values or select from available options. Press select to save changes and advance to the next system setup number. The thermostat will automatically save and exit to the home screen. You can change default MO-FR, SA-SU schedule here. This option selects the basic system type your thermostat will control. This option selects the equipment type your thermostat will control.
• Page 9: RTH6360 Series Reversing Valve O/B: Select whether reversing valve O/B should energize in cool or in heat. Cool Stages / Compressor: Select how many Cool or Compressor stages of your equipment the thermostat will control. Heat Stages: Select how many Heat or Aux/E stages of your equipment the thermostat will control. Heat Stages / Backup Heat Stages: Thermostat can automatically control both heating and cooling to maintain the desired indoor temperature. System Changeover: Smart Response is a comfort setting that ensures the indoor temperature will match the setpoint at the scheduled time. Air Filter Replacement Reminder: Set a reminder for when to change your air filter. Daylight Saving Time: Set to Off in areas that do not follow Daylight Saving Time. Once you have cycled through all of the System Setup numbers, Done is displayed. Press Select to save and exit.
• Page 10: Quick installation guide System operation settings Press the Mode button to cycle to the next available System mode. Cycle through the modes until the required System mode is displayed and leave it to activate. Available System modes vary by model and system settings. System modes include Auto, Heat, Cool, Em Heat, and Off. Fan operation settings Press the Fan button to cycle to the next available Fan mode. Cycle through the modes until the required Fan mode is displayed and leave it to activate. Available Fan modes vary with system settings. Fan modes include Auto and On.
• Page 11: RTH6360 Series Program Schedule You can program four time periods each day, with different settings for weekdays and weekends. We recommend the pre-set settings since they can reduce your heating/cooling expenses. Wake - Set to the time you wake up and the temperature you want during the morning, until you leave for the day. Away - Set to the time you leave home and the temperature you want while you are away. Home - Set to the time you return home and the temperature you want during the evening, until bedtime. Sleep - Set to the time you go to bed and the temperature you want overnight. To temporarily or permanently override any of the above program schedules, see page 12. To adjust program schedules, press Menu on your thermostat. Press + or - to select day or set of days to edit. Press + or - to select a schedule period to edit (Wake, Away, Home, and Sleep).
• Page 12: Quick Installation Guide Program schedule override (temporary) Press + or - to adjust the temperature. The new setpoint temperature will be held until the next scheduled time period begins. To cancel the Temporary Hold, press + or - and then press Cancel. Program schedule override (permanent) Press + or - to adjust the temperature. TEMPORARY HOLD is displayed and the setpoint temperature flashes. To cancel the Permanent Hold, press + or - and then press Cancel. Wiring—conventional systems If labels do not match terminals, connect wires as shown below. If you must connect both R and Rc wires, set the R Slider Tab to the down position. If your old thermostat had both R and RH wires, set the R Slider Tab to the down position.
• Page 13: RTH6360 Series Wiring—heat pump Connect wires: heat pump Match each labeled wire with the same letter on the new thermostat. Insert the wires into the matching terminal. If you have difficulty inserting wires, you may have to press down the terminal push button next to the corresponding terminal. If labels do not match letters on thermostat, see page 12. Alternate wiring (for heat pumps only) Keep R Slider Tab in the up position (1 wire). If your old thermostat had both V and VR wires, stop now and contact a qualified contractor for help. If your old thermostat had separate O and B wires, attach the B wire to the C terminal. C does not power the thermostat display or operations; batteries are always required. This model doesn’t support the heat pump fault alert (L/A terminal).
• Page 14: Quick installation guide Press and hold Menu and + buttons for approximately 5 seconds to enter advanced menu. Press Select to enter System Setup (ISU) menu. Press Select to cycle through System Setup numbers. See “System Setup options” on page 8 for a full list of System Setup numbers and options. Press + or - to change values or select from available options. Press Select to save changes and advance to the next System Setup number. Once you have cycled through all of the System Setup numbers, “Done” is displayed. Press Select to save and exit. To save and exit early, press Home to return to the Home screen.
• Page 15: RTH6360 Series Smart Response® Technology allows the thermostat to learn how long the furnace and air conditioner take to reach programmed temperature settings. The temperature is reached at the time you set, with a message “Recovery” displayed when the system is activated before a scheduled time period. Batteries are required to provide power, and fresh batteries should be installed when the low battery icon appears. The low battery icon appears about two months before the batteries are depleted, and batteries should be replaced once a year. If batteries are inserted within two minutes, the time and day will not have to be reset. All other settings are permanently stored in memory and do not require battery power. Alkaline batteries are recommended when replacing batteries. To set the time, press Menu to enter the device menu and choose TIME. Select between a 12 hour clock or a 24 hour clock. Adjust the hour and minutes, then press Select to save and exit.
• Page 16: Quick Installation Guide Set the date Press Menu to enter the device menu. Press + or - to choose DATE. Press Select. You will see the year blinking. Press + or - to adjust the year. Press + or - to adjust the month. Press + or - to adjust the day. Press Select to save and exit. Setting degrees Fahrenheit (F) or Celsius (C) Press Menu to enter the device menu. Press + or - until F/C is displayed. Press Select. Press + or - to adjust to the desired setting. Press Select to save and exit. Alert screen You will see the alert icon on the home screen. You can access alerts in the Menu to view the error/alert code. Snoozed alerts will appear 7 days after dismissing them in the alerts menu screen.
• Page 17: RTH6360 Series When the alert icon appears, check the error code with the table below to determine the problem. Snooze the alert. Dismiss the alert. Alerts codes Internal memory error: The memory of the thermostat has encountered an error. Please replace the thermostat. Thermostat temperature sensor error: The sensor of the thermostat has encountered an error. Please replace the thermostat. Replace air filter: Reset the timer by touching the dismiss button on thermostat screen after it is replaced. Low battery alert: The batteries are getting low. Replace them within two months. Critical low battery: The batteries are almost depleted and should be replaced as soon as possible.
• Page 18: Quick installation guide Troubleshooting If you have difficulty with your thermostat, please try the following suggestions. Most problems can be corrected quickly and easily. Display is blank Make sure fresh AA alkaline batteries are properly installed. Cannot change system setting to Cool Check System Setup Option 220 to make sure the options are set to either 1 or 2. Fan does not turn on when heat is required Check System Setup Option 205 to make sure it is set to match your heating equipment. Heating system is running in cool mode Check System Setup Option 200 or 218 to make sure it is set to match your heating and cooling equipment. Heating or cooling system does not respond Press System to set system to Heat. Make sure the temperature is set higher than the Inside temperature. Heat On / Cool On flashing on the screen Compressor protection feature is engaged. Wait 5 minutes for the system to restart safely.
• Page 19: RTH6360 Series 1-year limited warranty Honeywell warrants this product, excluding battery, to be free from defects in workmanship or materials, under normal use and service, for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase by the consumer. If at any time during the warranty period the product is determined to be defective or malfunctions, Honeywell shall repair or replace it. This warranty does not cover removal or reinstallation costs. Honeywell’s sole responsibility shall be to repair or replace the product within the terms stated above. Honeywell shall not be liable for any loss or damage of any kind, including any incidental or consequential damages resulting from any breach of any warranty. This warranty is the only express warranty Honeywell makes on this product. The duration of any implied warranties, including the warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, is hereby limited to the one-year duration of this warranty. This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary from state to state.

Una vez obtenida la temperatura de referencia deseada, no se requieren otras acciones. Para cancelar la pausa temporal, presione + o - y luego presione Cancel. Anulación del cronograma del programa (permanente) Aparecerá TEMPORARY HOLD y la temperatura de referencia parpadeará. Mientras parpadea, presione el botón Hold para cambiar a Permanent Hold. Para cancelar la pausa permanente, presione + o - y luego presione Cancel. Cableado: sistemas convencionales Si las etiquetas no corresponden con los terminales, conecte los cables como se muestra. Si el termostato antiguo tenía cables R y RH, configure la lengüeta deslizante R a la posición hacia abajo.

Si tiene problemas para insertar los cables, es posible que deba presionar el botón pulsador del terminal. Si las etiquetas no coinciden con las letras en el termostato, consulte la página 12. Mantenga la lengüeta deslizante R en la posición hacia arriba. Si el termostato antiguo tenía cables V y VR, deténgase y comuníquese con un contratista cualificado. El terminal C no alimenta la pantalla del termostato ni lo hace funcionar. Se requieren baterías siempre. Este modelo no es compatible con la alerta de falla de la bomba de calor.

No se puede cambiar la configuración del sistema a Cool (Refrigeración). Revise la opción de configuración del sistema 220 para cerciorarse de que las opciones estén configuradas en 1 o 2. El ventilador no se enciende cuando se requiere utilizar la calefacción. Revise la opción de configuración del sistema 205 para cerciorarse de que esté configurado para que corresponda con su equipo de calefacción. El sistema de calefacción está funcionando en modalidad de refrigeración (Cool). Revise la opción de configuración del sistema 200 o 218 para cerciorarse de que esté configurado para que corresponda con su equipo de calefacción y refrigeración. Presione System (Sistema) para configurar el sistema en Heat o refrigeración no responde. Asegúrese de que la temperatura sea más alta que la temperatura interior. Revise el interruptor de circuito y, si es necesario, reinícielo. Asegúrese de que el interruptor de energía del sistema de calefacción y refrigeración esté encendido. La función de la protección del compresor está activada. Espere cinco minutos para que se reinicie el sistema de forma segura, sin dañar el compresor. Los problemas con la bomba de calor hacen que se enfríe el aire en la modalidad de calefacción, o que se caliente el aire en la modalidad de refrigeración.
