- Page 3: About your new thermostat Congratulations! Your recreational vehicle manufacturer has equipped your RV with the most advanced RV thermostat. Your Dometic Single Zone LCD thermostat has been designed for ease of operation and for many years of reliable service. Features Liquid Crystal Display and Green LED Mode Indicators Auto Fan Indoor temperature display °F / °C display Air conditioner can provide additional indoor air circulation during furnace operation. System initialization A system initialization will need to be performed by the installer after the system is installed. Make sure the Single Zone LCD thermostat is in the Off condition. Press the “+” button and, while holding it, also press and hold the On/Off Mode button for three seconds. This completes the initialization. The furnace On/Off temperature differential should be set at this time.
- Page 4: Your Dometic Single Zone LCD thermostat has been pre-programmed. Review settings below and adjust the settings to your personal comfort level. Factory preset settings include heating at 68 ºF / 20 ºC and cooling at 72 ºF / 22 ºC. Quick reference to control buttons indicates mode of operation when illuminated. Press to increase temperature set-point, press to decrease temperature set-point, and press to select mode of operation.
- Page 5: Programming & operations To turn on the single zone LCD thermostat, press the On/Off Mode button. The LCD will be activated. To turn off the single zone LCD thermostat, press the On/Off Mode button and toggle through the modes until the On/Off green LED is on. The LCD will go out and the green LED will remain on for approximately 15 seconds, then go out. Temperature format ºF / ºC Simultaneously press the “+” and “―“ buttons to toggle between Fahrenheit and Centigrade format. ºF indicates Fahrenheit and ºC indicates Centigrade.
- Page 6: Inside temperature can be displayed when the Single Zone LCD thermostat is in the Off Mode. Press either the “+” or “―” button to display the inside temperature. To select a mode, press the On/Off Mode button to advance through the available modes. Each press will advance to the next mode, indicated by a green LED. Available modes include Off, Fan, Cool, Furnace, Heat Pump, or Heat Strip. For more information on modes, refer to “Mode Description” on pages 8-10.
- Page 7: Fan speed can be adjusted by pressing the On/Off Mode button until the fan green LED is lit. The LCD will display “Lo” for low, “Hi” for high, or “Au” for auto. To select the desired fan speed, use the “+” or “−” button. The temperature set-point can be changed by pressing the “+” or “−” button, indicated by two digits on the LCD. Pressing “+” increases and “−” decreases the temperature set-point. The maximum set-point for the system is 90 ºF. The minimum set-point for heating is 40 ºF and for cooling is 55 ºF.
- Page 8: Mode description includes Off, Cool, and Furnace modes. In Off mode, the LCD will be blank and the Off green LED will turn on for 15 seconds before turning off. In Cool mode, the system cycles the compressor on and off based on room air temperature and the set-point. The fan will turn on first, followed by the compressor in approximately 2 minutes. Cool mode has three fan speed selections: Low, High, and Auto. In Low, the fan operates continuously at low speed while the compressor cycles on and off. In High, the fan operates continuously at high speed while the compressor cycles on and off. In Auto, the fan speed varies based on the temperature difference and cycles with the thermostat. In Furnace mode, there are also three fan speed selections: Low, High, and Auto. Selecting Auto in Furnace mode will shut the air conditioner fan off if additional circulation is not desired.
- Page 9: In the furnace mode, the system cycles the RV’s furnace on and off based on room air temperature and the temperature set point on the thermostat. The system can be configured to operate using an on/off differential of either 1 degree F or 2 degrees F. This feature is programmed during system initialization. To set the temperature differential, the system must be off. Press the “―” button and hold it while pressing the On/Off mode button for three seconds. Heat pump operation is usually selected when temperatures are below 70 °F for warmth in the living space. This reverses the refrigerant flow, dispensing warm air inside and cold air outside. A freeze-up of the system can render the heat pump inoperable, but a defrost feature prevents this from happening.
- Page 10: Low ambient heat pump lock out prevents operation below 30 °F. In auto mode, the fan will turn off, but will remain on in low or high settings without compressor operation. Power interruption allows the system to restart with previous set points once power is restored. LCD error codes indicate specific faults in the system. E1 indicates loss of communication between the thermostat and module board, leading to system shutdown. E2 signifies an open circuit or out of range indoor temperature sensor, locking out heating and cooling operations. E3 indicates a shorted indoor temperature sensor, also locking out heating and cooling operations. E4 signifies an open circuit or out of range outdoor temperature sensor, locking out heat pump operation. E5 indicates an open circuit or out of range freeze sensor, locking out air conditioner mode while allowing other operations.
- Page 11: Service In the unlikely event the unit fails to operate or operates improperly, check the following before calling your service center. If your RV is connected to a motor generator, check to be sure the motor generator is running and producing power. If the RV is connected to a power supply by a land line, check to be sure the line is sized properly to run air conditioner load and it is plugged into the power supply. Check your 120 Vac fuse or circuit breaker to see if it is open. Check your 12 Vdc fuse or circuit breaker to see if it is open. After the above checks, call your local service center for further help. This unit must be serviced by qualified service personnel only. When calling for service, always give the air conditioner/heat pump model number and serial number found on the identification label located on the base pan of the unit. Also provide the electronic control kit part number and serial number found on the identification label located on the side of the kit.
